Currently running flowmaster 40 SI/DO. Would like to get a deeper more aggressive sound. Recommendation? Pipe size?

I have the same set up as you and wanted a more aggressive sound so i removed my catalytic converter. Has that real nice rumble.

Sometimes they'll trip, the 3rd gens are more likely to, actually.

You install a spark plug non-fouler on the rear O2 sensor so it doesn't get the full whiff of exhaust.

im a little ignorant to a spark plug non fouler i searched it on google looks like it goes on the sparkplug itself but your saying you put it on the O2 sensor. and that does what? make it not throw up a Check engine light? or does it help it regulate how much fuel it needs to be injecting.

and what do you mean by "sometimes they'll trip"

sorry for my ignorance im still trying to research how i want my exhaust setup and see what all my options are. and what impact they have on the performance or if i could expect a Check engine light from one way or another.

thank you for linking that!. so according to that if my truck has one before and after the CC than i would only need to add that modified spark non faouler to the one after the CC.

Correct. The "downstream" O2 sensor is looking for a difference in exhaust. It is checking to see if the CC is working. It looks for a difference in voltage from the before and after O2 sensors.

but you were saying sometimes they trip, and by that you mean the CEL comes on, but doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get worse gas milage?

and if the CEL decides to trip can you just run to autozone or somewhere to take it off and hope it doesn't happen again?

Yes. If the PCM is persnickity, it will pop on the CEL and a P0420 (catalyst inefficency) code. Some trucks do, some don't. The 3rd gen trucks I know are more picky about it than the 2nd gens like mine. You won't necessary lose mileage as the Dodges don't use the rear O2 sensors to as high a degree but you DO have a newer truck, so that might be different.

You can reset it, just make sure you don't have emissions testing in your area because it will fail. lol

Luckily we don't have emissions test around here. people run straight pipes and such all the time.

but the CC being removed appeals to me to get a consistent tubing shape all the way through the exhaust to maximize the tone.

Could always go with a high flow cat. The huge restriction is the factory y-pipes on these trucks, not so much the cats.
