4-corner air suspension, what do you think?

I think it's a great system (simple compared to the VW Touareg I had before). 2017 with 110k with No issues. The payload on my truck is on the small side per the door sticker but I have hooked onto 25foot plus trailers with no issue or overload message. Put it this way, I have no reason to buy a 3/4 ton or more pickup for what i do.

Compared to other 1/2 ton pickups I have driven at work: aluminum body Ford's squat a lot and you feel the trailer. Compared to a newer ram 1500 with the longer bed, the stock steel suspension while rides nice and pulls nice (ZF and 3.92), it squats too much for my taste and would add air bags to it.

I have a 2019 Longhorn with air suspension. I would not buy another pickup without it. I'm old and pull a travel trailer, and it eliminated the hard-to-use load leveling bars. Just hook up and go.
I live at the end of a five-mile Rocky Mountain road, which is county-maintained, but it does get rough sometimes.
Rides much smoother.

I have a 2017 1500 Limited with 55k miles and have loved every minute of having an air suspension, both in terms of a smoother ride and when towing. I also have a 2022 Grand Wagoneer with air suspension. No issues with either but then have lived in Northern VA/NC and live in OK now so not very far north.

It’s worked great for me with over 100k. Especially since I use the truck like a car with more capability. Heavier work I use my 2500 or my 3500. No more big stuff in collection.

Like anything it is great when it works and will suck when it does not. That said, I would not have a RAM without it. I love it

My 2017 Rebel w/ air ride worked perfectly, including most of its life in northern Illinois. I towed with it and off roaded it and it always worked flawlessly. At about 110K miles though, it started having issues in winter (in Alabama) every time.e it dropped below 32f. I decided it was time refresh the suspension and found out the front air-struts along are over $3K together. I ended up removing all air for coils. I miss the air, but it served me well for a long time.

Looking at buying a new Laramie. The one I test drove has the 4 corner air suspension. None of the others I had been looking at on line had it as an option so it was brand new to me. I thought it seemed kind of cool, but the fact I’ve had a ram for 11+ years and never thought of it as a need I know I wouldn’t really need it. But I guess the question is , what do those that have it think of it? Does it function as it’s supposed to? Have you had issues with it? I’m concerned it could be a really long and expensive fix if it needs repaired.
I've got it on my 2025 Laramie and absolutely love it. When I lower the tailgate it squats. My wife is rather short and it can be made to go into an exit/entry mode where the whole truck squats. Wife loves it. I only wish I could program it to lower to the entry/exit position when I park it and turn the key off. Anyone know how to force this?

Have 2016 Eco Diesel I bought used in Dec. Already put 30,000 miles on her. I have owned many 1/2 ton trucks and a couple Ram 2500's. Mine has the air suspension and I love it. Best riding truck ever. Nothing compares ride wise. I have hauled over weight- Like 12000+ and was a champ. Only got a warning once and I had a huge diesel turbo heater in the bed. I think it didn't like a big bump. Got a warning with no issues. Hooking and unhooking trailers is no longer a hassle. Trailers get bound up and don't release. I just lower the truck and it always pops right off. For loading once I have the trailer tongue height set I never have to use the crank handle on the trailer. Lower and slide under and raise her up. With the rear camera it is a one time one man job. Buddy with 1 ton could not believe how nice it rides. Towed a couple G25 boats with mine. Way over weight but I drove a long way to get that load. I said lets set her on the back and see how she does. Level and no warnings- Good to go. I towed it from OK to AZ and got 12 MPG and a nice ride. My 3/4 ton would have been stiff as hell and getting 8 MPG. Only issue is I can't buy 1/2 ton airride diesel truck from Ram anymore. How stupid are the Ram executives. Just put an Cummins L9 in one and call it good. Or a Cat in a Ford.

Since I read that it was redesigned for the Gen 5 model and started reading posts on air suspension complaints, I’ve noticed that they are almost all on models prior to Gen 5. Failures don’t seem to common on newer trucks although they may still take a hit from extreme cold weather.
Quit a few with 5th gen trucks in extreme cold, and don't hear many complaints.

Had it on my '17 Laramie and loved it, no issues. Towed all over with it and it always performed as expected. Only upgraded to a 2500 as the trailer got bigger, still miss it sometimes.

I live in North Texas and have had zero problems with my Ram Air Suspension in the 5 years and 85,000 miles I have owned it. Some people who live in extremely cold areas have reported issues, but I have traveled to cold states during the winters, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Colorado and haven't encountered any issues. I like the feature for it's ride both empty and when pulling my boat. I will say it rides better than my 2016 ram with standard suspension.
