Well guys, having some issues with my front diff. Both CV axel seals started leaking at the same time, passenger more than the drivers. Both CV shafts where replaced. Driver’s side on Dec13 and Passenger on Jan 7.

I recently had the transmission overhauled and transfer case serviced by the same shop. When picked up, 4x4 was working fine and no leaks present. Same day, had issues with trans and some weird banging in the front passenger side almost noticed fluid on power steering hoses. Took it back to the shop and was informed caliper bolt was loose and causing the banging and everything was good with trans, no leaks. Also mentioned that 4x4 wasn’t working now and would need to be checked (worked when I picked up). Front diff was check previously and the fluid was good with no issues (shop tried 4x4)
I get home (9 hour drive) and both CV shafts leaking oil, passenger side more, plus oil on the passenger side of differential (looks like fill plug).

my question is, is there a breather tube for the front diff that could be clogged resulting in seals leaking? Also what other causes if both axel seals start leaking at pretty much the same time?
Would 4x4 have something to do with the leaking Seals?

Truck is going back to the shop this coming week as there was more leaks I found in the cooler lines and trans ended up overheating.

Im trying to get an idea of why both cv axel seals would start leaking. Sorry for going on, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I also forgot to mention that when I’m reversing or driving and cut the wheel sharp, it feels like I’m going for huge rocks and as soon as I straighten out the wheels, it’s fine. It did this when my CV shafts where bad, however there no present signs of my shafts bad and they where just replaced.

Soundsike it could be a plugged off breather tube causing the diff to pressure up. Or they way overfilled it maybe.
As for the CVs there should be no binding at all while turning unless 4x4 is engaged. That seems like an od issue. Both left and right Cv axles are the same part number so length is the same.
