Looks like an express or big horn. Do You have 4wd auto?

I believe you have an express hence you have part time which is a different transfer case. Does it show auto 4wd as selectable option?

FWIW . I upgraded to the RA2 5.0 touchscreen radio & installed the microphone mirror , audio controls on the steering wheel , footwell lighting , bed lights , under the hood lights , cabin air filter , installed the OEM back up cam kit , Bilsteins @ +2.8" with Mevotecs UCAs , Elite Engineering Oil Catch Can, Mopar side step nerf bars , Spyder LED tail lights , upgraded oil to Redline 5W -30 with Royal Purple 10-48 synthetic filter and recently the Tow hooks!

Damn doesn't seem like much until I type it all out!
Must be why the wife is always complaining about my love affair with my RAM ! LOL , did I mention a 6" BDS Suspension lift and 17" wheels with 37" Toyos are in the future, oh and I have everything for the overhead console with compass module AND the 8.4" RA4AN Uprade less a radio ......

she is gonna kill me ! LOL !

Has anybody tested the differences in operation between the settings while the truck is on a lift? If so, post videos showing the differences please.

Not on a lift, but in real world conditions they all act the same for me. Lift was my next adventure, but the dealership said they did it and it worked "as designed" for them.( Which doesn't mean **** to me)

Sorry in advance for the long post, a couple pages back someone mentioned better tires and I blew them off because "the truck will still spin the rear first no matter what tires are on it" but thinking about it logically, the way this system is designed is all based off torque management. Technically it takes more torque to spin knobby tires when in snow or mud, thus in theory "tricking" the truck because of the extra torque needed to roll them over in mud/snow and engaging the front axle sooner. So my question is if anyone has knobby tires, how it works for you and how are you today haha.

Because I personally would like to do a leveling kit and upgrade tires and wheels etc but at the rate this is all going I don't see myself holding onto this truck for very long, so no point investing money I won't get back

I'm getting Cooper Discoverer AT3s put on tomorrow. Not exactly a mud tire by any means but certainly better than the horrible Goodyears that came on it

I run studded 276/65r20 Goodyear Duratracs in the winter, and I think the more aggressive tires make the issue worse.

We had the first snowfall about a week ago. I didn't bother switching over to the duratracs, since the snow was melted within a day. It did however give me a chance to try out the factory tires in the snow, and I must say these tires absolutely suck in snow and ice! But with that said, the engagement of the front axle didn't seem nearly as abrupt, and wasn't as noticeable as I remember with the Duratracs last year.

With the far better traction that the Duratracs have, means it takes more torque to slip the rear tires, which results in a higher load on the front axle once it finally does engage. I know I had some pretty nasty sounds coming from my t-case last winter, during these high load front axle engagements. I'm actually kinda curious to see if the t-case will survive another winter of abuse.

That's what I was afraid of.

Kinda wish I was still in the industry to experiment on things like this. I'm really, really curious to see if/what the difference in operation is between auto and lock with the truck in the air.

Depending on my schedule this weekend I am going to try and put it on Jack stands in my driveway and do it. I'm thinking based on how it acts if I could hold the front driveshaft with my bare hands enough to keep it from spinning, Or even a front tire at an idle.

I don't think the results will be satisfying to me anyway based on how it's acted already in wet grass.

I'll see if I can put mine on jack stands at my folks house this weekend as well.

I'm curious to see how it will work as well. When I brought mine in for the 4Lock issue they said they put it on the lift and it worked "perfectly".
