Running a BullyDog tuner on my '12 with the 5.7L Hemi, which has the options to alter the rev limiter and WOT shift points for 1-2 and 2-3. I've done some reading on various sites and am curious as to what a safe rev limiter would be and where to set the WOT shift points at.

Right now I've got the limit set at 6000 with shifts at 5800. I've read the stock valve springs are good to 7000 RPM but there's no point in going that high because the cam is way out of power band by that point. I've also seen some dyno charts of both stock and tuned Hemis and the power seems to drop off sharply after ~5600, so I'm actually considering going back in and dropping the shift points to 5650 as there is little point in revving further if the power is dropping.

Thoughts, opinions?

In my 2013 with the 6 speed tranny I set my shifts to 6200RPM, main reason was to avoid the awful 3-4 shift. Truck has amazing power through 1-3 gears, but hitting 4 gear it would fall on its face. I moved up my shift points to stay in the power longer. I ran a quality oil and good synthetic oil filter to be safe.

Still have 1/2 and 2/3 shift points set at 5800. It's been running fine since last post.
