My motor has been in for a week now and I have been able to put 300 miles on it so far.
First start was pretty rough as expected but evened out after a few minutes.
Driving with the stock tune was very rich and sputtered a bit on the low end and would at idle throw P300, 303 and 306 codes.
After some driving I put in the in the Diablo 93 Octane tune.
Runs much better but still pretty rich especially on the low end and at idle.
Every once in awhile i get a quick P306 code but they are getting further and further apart.

I don't really feel like it lost much of anything on the low end, maybe just a tad or so. But let me tell you, when it hits 3000 RPM it's like a bat out of hell. The motor sounds so good and smooth and gets me to 90 way too fast. I'm getting a ton more power over the original motor for sure.
The cam i'm sure has a lot to do with it, but the valve work I did seems to be adding a ton of power.

Next step is getting it tuned with HemiFever. Hopefully that will get the low side running better and stop the misc. codes.

I thought the 6.4 Hemi 2500 trucks were all Non-MDS
Same as the 5.7 in the 2500

I been wanting to do a 6.1/6.4 cam swap on my 2012 5.7.....Is it possible to just do a cam swap without any other mods or must I change the lifter, rollers, etc. also? Sean is my tuner so I can get it tuned no problem if I’m able to do
A quick swap.

You can, But spending all that money on a new cam and reusing lifters, isn't something I wouldn't recommend, especially the 5.7 ones...

Just got a starting tune from Hemifever last night.
Wow what a difference. No more codes and gobs of power.
No regrets with this cam for sure.
I’ll get some records this weekend and let Sean tighten it up even more.
Did you change your valve springs and push rods?

I used the mopar performance springs. Also new pushrods but they are the same spec as stock.

Im thinking of going this route for my cam swap. Could you put a list together for me with the parts you used. Maybe with part numbers. I want to do this right the first time. Any help would be appreciated.

This is not the SRT cam, its the 6.4 truck cam with MDS although my truck doesn't have MDS.
Along with the cam I used the Mopar performance springs and a set of non mds lifters.

Other mods include CAI, oversized throttle body. 25 defree back cuts on all the valves and very mild head port.

I'm at 750 miles now and the engine is smooth as can be and pulls hard as hell.
Only issue so fasr is a p0306 every now and then but pretty sure it's the pigtail on the injector with a broken lock. Will be replacing that next week. The engine never actually seems to misfire just throws that code.

So the main purpose of the cam was to remove MDS? Curious how power/torque is lost since you can't fill the combustion chamber as much with the smaller bore/stroke.

Who is doing your tuning? They would need to add a bunch of timing down low to make equal power...
