Thanks for the comments. Thanks for those that answred my silly questions. 1500s are different coming from 2500s but.. Simple. Haha67d3bdf9a01b744f47a8f2b81f414797.jpg

Looks great. How's the ride. I just picked up an eco diesel last week. a spacer already from previous owner, sits level but is an absolute marshmallow on the road, plus the strut squeaks like a bird being squeezed. Had 5100s on my f150 I traded in and they weren't bad but I know once you jack them up to max lift they are all reportedly harsh. These are some of the best riding stock trucks, imo. I had a 2500, thuren suspension and if I can get that thing to ride nice I'm sure these should be cake.

Seems to be a bit more harsh under 5mph, but after that its hard to tell. Haven't had it off-road yet. But 5100s on my 2006 1500 (last time I had a 1500) did well. Nothing like my 2500 with Thuren.. But that's a different league.

Oh I know all too well. Had the thuren 2.0 on my 2500, buddy had a carli 2.5 on his. No replacement for big shocks. Only reason I ask is I had a 2013 f150 I literally traded in last week on this truck. When I initially had my 5100s installed they were set at 2.75 lift and I literally had no droop travel and it was horrible to drive. Worse than a stock 4500 empty. I ended up pulling everything off, dropped the front to 1.5 than had to do a custom rear combo to keep the rake acceptable. Don't wanna have another headache like that. Granted these trucks definitely need a firmer setup I'd like to stay away from stiff springs and make up for it in better damping.

She is dirty. We are in our Monsoon season, so thunderstorms and haboobs everynight. I'll try to wash it and get better pics. Won t be leaving this weekend so she is safe in the garage.

I will say.. It is taller, much taller than I expected. Getting in and out is more of a reach/fall.

Mirrors had to be adjusted. I'll have to do something with my headlights now.

Thanks, hood stripe I bought on Amazon, found a flat black set, and trimmed it down to my liking. I love the look. Had it on my 2500 and got asked about it everywhere.

I did my headlights, just haven't drove at night yet. But the passenger side didn't want to lower itself as much as the driver side. Weird.

Still happy with these set at 2.8? I'm having an inner debate whether to run these with the eibach coils, or go right to 6112s. The typical save money vs get best performance.

I am. It's not that much of a difference, however, think i may have a little vibration at like 10mph.

Yea, I feel as tho I'd have that luck as well. I fought DW enough in the 2500 i'm not trying to ride the line of possibilities with vibes. I drive this thing too much. Thank for the quick reply.

Me as well. DW was no joke.

My axles look to be ok angle wise too. Maybe it's just the MT tires I feel..

Those angles look perfect. I mentioned in my other thread that these trucks lifted have similar angles at the cv and upper bj to my f150 at stock height. And that's at 2.8 of lift. But after everything I've dealt with I go by what I say more than what I hear to establish my own ideas.

On a side note can I ask a favor. Can you get me the numbers off your truck for the droop travel left at the 2.8 setting. I measured at ride height, than jacked up by the frame and pulled 4" roughly. But I have a spacer and wanna see how much is left with the 5100 setup. Got some ideas I wanna look into but need some baseline numbers to compare to.

Just to give you a warm fuzzy feeling. This was my f150s angles at 2.75. I'd say that these are some extreme angles. I measure with a tape measure and had a verified 1/2" of droop. This was a terrible ride. If you didn't feel vibes before on stock tires I'd bet that you're just feeling some feedback off the mud tires you installed. These trucks aren't terrible heavy like the 2500s so I think we'll feel a bit more feedback and changes when it comes to tires and thingsf1d49b8b25585e01685d0309be190018.jpg

Hey, I apologize in advance for being totally unknowing about the subject of lifts/suspensions.

This is my '11. It has a front end puck lift, either 1.75" or 2". Had it done a long time ago. I can't remember which.

My OEM right front shock is leaking. I'd like to replace all 4 OEM shocks with something better. Been thinking Bilstein 5100. I'd have a shop do the work, and I'm not sure they know any more than I.

My questions: Does the Puck come out? I'm thinking it does.

Where do I tell my tech to set the front shock to stay at the current front end height, or possibly just a 1/4" higher in the front?

Aprox how long will it take a tech at a dealership to put the Bilsteins in?

Is there a "Go To" place or a sponsor on this site, that you guys recommend buying the shocks from?

Thanks

If your truck is a 4x4, you have struts up front and rears will be shocks.

The spacers or pucks can be removed. If getting new 5100 struts, they should be able to do the entire front in about 2 to 3 hours. It took me 3 hours and I was taking my time and stopped for lunch.

Id set the struts per instructions for a 2.1 with yours if you want to keep the ssme height you have now. I believe that is the 3rd ring up if my memory serves me correctly, but all illustrated in the instructuons.

Thank you, 17.

I like the plush ride that I have now. From what I gather, your truck rides about the same, if not just a tiny bit more firm, correct? Were you on OEM shocks up front? Has the front "broken in" any?

Is it Standard Operating Procedure to do the rear shocks at the same time?

I would say a bit more firm, feel it more at lower speeds. I also noticed today my tire pressure is at 50 psi, i know I had my old tires at 45. So, that might be some of the firmness.

Doing rear is not normally done with a level unless doing a spacer in the rear. I am factory OEM shocks still on the rear, and had OEM struts up front yes.

Thank you, 17.

17, Would you consider doing me a favor, and drop your tire pressure to 38, and let me know what you think? I'd not, that's cool. If so, re measure your front end. 38 is where I keep my tires, and I know tire pressure makes a big difference.

From the bottom of my tow hooks to the floor is 19".

In a perfect world, I'd like to raise the front of the truck another 1/2-1 inch, without compressing the spring any more than what it already is. Can that be done?

When it comes to a lift, I think even a half inch is very noticeable.
