Are they worth it? How much of a difference in tone do they make?
I just ordered a 6.5" long Dynomax Race Bullet muffler that I plan on installing soon and am thinking about getting some black tips for the duals.
My question is how much of a difference do bigger tips make?
Also will changing the exhaust piping make it any deeper?

I saw this video and drooled:

My exhaust got a louder for sure after adding 5" tips, consider moes bolt on tips as well.

The tips will help make it louder but are worth it mainly for the looks. A 5" tip fills up the openings in the bumper nicely. Mr. Smiths truck above is a perfect example...

I went with a stock diameter tip, after my duals, but with a 12" length to offer more expansion. They did the trick and deepened the tone out like I wanted. I would think that a larger ID and longer tip would do even better. Let us know please?

Long tube headers and high flow cats on top of that make it even better

That would be too much for me, I'd for sure weld in the biggest resonator possible in my mid pipe lol

Does anyone know the difference between diesel tips and I guess what would be considered "gasser" tips? It seems like anything over 5" is considered a diesel tip. But the bigger you go, the deeper the tone...So I might even look into a 6x18 :roflsquared: As long as it fits within the bumper cutouts

Here's my thread with the same muffler you purchased. Please put up a video as I'm tempted to get 5 inch black tips.

That thing sounds evil man! You must be tempted to floor it every chance you get.

This thread is really just me thinking aloud, once I get my lift, wheels, and tires out of the way this will probably be the next project haha. I do have my new muffler coming in soon tho so stay tuned for that

The inlet size gets much larger on the 6 inchers. I found some 5 inch tips with 2.5 inch inlet or the moes tips that can be directly bolted on.
I am tempted to get on it, but it's been too cold to have the windows down so not as fun. Once it stays warmed up and can drive with all windows down the mpg may drop a little.
