Ok. Took the truck out today after I got home from work and wow. That’s all I have to say. For a stock upgrade and not tuned yet... truck even sounds throatier. The only things done so far are Borla S type catback and this 6.4 manifold. Truck definitely pulls harder on the bottom end. Running these 35s and I can chirp them easy rolling at 30mph. I need to order my new rear control arms sooner than later before I destroy the stock arms. Going with Clayton overland arms with giiro joints on both ends. See how well those hold up to the abuse.

Niiice had this feeling the 6.4 intake kills the low end torque.. thanks for clearing that up

Lol i got the same traction problem i kick down to second gear lay down two ten foot tire marks.. first gear forget about it no traction .. all i have is vararam and hptuned by me

Your low end is stronger due to the longer runner length and larger chamber. Also is dependent on your exhaust. I’m trying to keep 1-3/4 headers when I swap and was debating jba with a custom y pipe with 2.5” tube and stock cats but the arh headers and you pipe are definitely looking better in my opinion.

I looked into this since the jba y pipe is trash. After talking with Matt and jay decided if I do headers I'd keep my x pipe.

I have a Borla catback that i would like to keep so I’ll have to go y pipe. You could do stainless works since they sell a kit for running an x pipe? I could do stainless works and just run their pipe all the way to my muffler and use the muffler as the crossover. Or use their x pipe kit and just end up running dual Borla proXS mufflers

Finally had time to install the plastic weld to block the factory pcv vacuum port. Says 2-3 hours cure time. I used acetone to clean and prep the plastic. Make sure to remove the throttle body and reach your hand inside if you do this method so you can properly make sure the hole is filled and it’s a smooth finish on the inside of the manifold. Also helps you to check and see if you have any air gaps. I did so I ended up taking a pinch of the plastic weld and going from the inside and pushing it through the hole inside till it started pressing into the pcv valve housing.

Alright guys. I am trying some other things for the pcv system. I feel the stock pcv valve is very restrictive and is very poor in design. I’ve gutted one of the 2 stock pcv valves that I have and added an in line one way check valve. I may purchase another and add it to the fresh air side as well to prevent the oil from traveling up that tube at reduced vacuum and force it through the vacuum side. Reason being as many know under hard acceleration vacuum is reduced drastically and the crank case pressure may exceed the vacuum and there is nothing on the fresh air side to prevent reverse flow. This valve has increased flow capabilities vs the stock pcv valve. I may reinstall an operational pcv valve and swap the check valve to the fresh air side. Not sure yet. More of a test to see what happens. Trying to see if it’s allowing to much air to bypass the throttle body.im sure the stock pcv was restricted to reduce airflow

Well I’ve reinstalled the stock functioning pcv valve. This was drawing to much air through the crank case at idle. On my page is a video of the crank case vent with the functioning pcv valve and a video of the gutted pcv valve. I’m definitely going to add a restrictor valve on the fresh air side as well to prevent low pressure reverse airflow back into the Intake manifold. I’m leaving the restrictor valve that I installed in the vacuum side Hose as well as a secondary. This is the link to a video of all the hose routing for my catch can install. A few people on other pages are telling me that what I did to install the catch can is going to cause engine issues so I made a video describing the function of the pcv valve and how mine is connected to show them what I did as they don’t seem to understand what I have done properly.

Try plumbing a cheap 3/8" gas filter into your fresh air make line Kristopher,if it fills up with oil then you know you'll have to revamp it things slightly. It'll give you an idea of how much oil is being pushed back under WOT,if it's minimal then just run the inline can filter permanently and change it when it feels full. You could even go whole hog and find one of the old style gas filters that actually use a screw on cannister that you can mount veritically. Another option albit more money is plumb another catch can into the fresh air make up,and run 2 cans

I was debating running 2 cans. I’ve decided I’m going to run a Second restrictor valve in the fresh air side to prevent reverse flow. It’s a 5/8” tube size on the fresh air side.

Takiyama Sam (sp??) on Tuned Rams or High Performance Rams on facebook sells a plug-n-play SRV (short runner valve) wire harness extension. You'll have to join either one of those pages to track him down though,he's not on here

Takayama Sam. I’m running one of his no splice harnesses. Amazing part. Made it more simple to swap.

These days that's where alot of the guys who are building stuff for the trucks are hanging around, very few of them are on here. Guys like Charles Barrett who are looking into building an 8speed transmission heater delete kit with a lower thermostat are on facebook, not here

I almost installed one of the test kits. I can’t bring myself to do it though.

Do you have to change then fuel rial put to change the injectors? If so, did you have to change the crossover hose? I don’t think I can get that hose off of the 6.4l to swap it, without cutting it.
