210 ° WOW !I've gotten to 210* on my trans before but I let it cool down when it got to that and have never gotten it that hot again. Still no side effects to this day.

Maybe someone in here can help me instead of posting a whole new thread. Sorry if this has been covered in here already but 37 pages is a lot to sort through.
I'm wanting to get my transmission serviced/ flushed I have just over 90k as far as I know its never been done. I would like to switch to Amsoil Transmission fluid since that is what I run for engine oil and have had great results. Does anyone have experience running their tranny fluid, and if so how do you like it?
According to the owners manual, the "normal service" interval for the trans fluid is 120k so you're good there as long as you haven't done too much heavy towing.
Amsoil MVATF is no doubt a great product. However I don't personally feel its a good fluid for these transmissions because they are so finicky about the type of fluid they have. Amsoil MVATF is a "one size fits all" kind of ATF and I prefer an ATF that is tailored for the ATF+4 specs. Castrol Transmax, Mobil, Pennzoil, and slew of others make a great ATF+4 thats Chrysler licensed. Keep in mind to be ATF+4, it has to be synthetic as per Chrysler specs. Here's a full list: Licensed Brands | Chrysler ATF+4® Licensing Program
Although not officially licensed by Chrysler, Redline C+ is probably about the best ATF+4 compliant fluid you can get.
Also, I would avoid a flush. Heard way too many stories of it ruining transmissions. Just do a pan drop and install a drain plug so you can do do easy fluid changes in the future. Or spend the money for a PML or MagHytec pan with a built in drain plug.
There's 2 options. Install a drain plug in the pan, run the truck for 50 miles and do a drain and fill. Repeat as many times as you feel necessary. Second option, get two clean 5 gallon buckets, fill one with new fluid and leave the second empty. Unhook your cooler lines and feed the return line into the fluid filled bucket and the feed line into the empty bucket. Run the truck in neutral until the fluid is coming out bright red.

This is one of the main reasons I'm installing a Mag-Hytec pan is for the drain , I plan to do my DIY flush with 2 or three pan drain & refills with Redline C+ fluid after 500 -1000 miles maybe 1500 miles , hell who knowsThere's 2 options. Simple drop & 2ea filter change . Install pan and refill .is it as simple as dropping the pan and swapping the filters, or are there things that a shop has to adjust inside when you get a service done?
