So Im having transmission problems with my 65RFE jumping from 1st and 4th. It seems to have always reset after turning the truck off and on but it has been getting worse. I'm trying to trouble shoot and based off what I've read online, it could be multiple problems causing it. Because it resets after turning it off and on, could the problem be electrical or electronic? Would a fluid flush help? IV been watching the trans dipstick and its in between normal. Error codes that pop up are p0871 and p0870. To add, the shift solenoid was replaced about 5 months ago. Any help pointing me in the right direction will help.

I found your issue. It’s your transmission fluid pressure sensor, located on the passenger side of the transmission. I just replaced mine after a scare, it’s easy to get at. Go to your local parts store and ask for a “65RFE Transmission Pressure Sensor” for a 2013 RAM 1500. The bolt on top is 8MM.
