That happens on my truck occasionally. Resetting the Fuel Economy and trip OD works for me.Have you tried resetting the fuel economy? Also the range is based off the fuel economy of the last hundred or so miles and the estimation of what's left in the fuel tank.
Try resetting the fuel economy and trip odometers and drive for a tank or two then see if the DTE returns to normal
so i was able to fix the mileage issue on the cluster but now my gas range is wrong my last cluster before te swap gave 120 range till empty this one is giving me 416. how can i fix this?
Do you think that maybe the gage is working off of a different fuel tank value. Maybe change that with AlfaOBD? Or some other setting?Assuming from the way your post was worded that you just recently installed this? How long ago?
I replaced my cluster about 4 years ago do to an annoying flickering backlight. The range was very wrong for awhile, but slowly got more accurate with every drive. It took several weeks before if was reading right again.
turns out yall were right i drove it for a bit and reset both trips and the mile range keeps on going down, but i still got the lamp out problem i tried deleting it with alfaobd but it came back
I have, the basic clusters don't display the errors like the premium ones do, so they're there, they just aren't noticed. I went nuts trying to help my buddy troubleshoot the issue. Even went so far as swapping in supposed OEM housings with incandescent bulbs. Turned out the issue was the rear bulb sockets were not oem. Swapped one of my OEM sockets in, and the codes cleared. Once he swapped the sockets for oem from the dealer, he had no more issues. I'm not sure what taillights the op is using, but if they're not factory and aren't OEM sockets, that is where I'd put my money.I've never heard of that lamp out warning when swapping an instrument cluster.
It seems to come up nearly 100% of the time when someone installs aftermarket lights, or swaps quads out for factory projectors.
Typically, when someone switches to aftermarket lights, they have to go into the BCM, car configuration, and change the lights to LED.
Have somebody step on the brake pedal while you watch the 3rd brake light on the top of the cab.Quite often it will be the 3rd brake light that's the issue.turns out yall were right i drove it for a bit and reset both trips and the mile range keeps on going down, but i still got the lamp out problem i tried deleting it with alfaobd but it came back
ill check on that again, i did change it to everything led when i swapped my taillights for oem led sport taillightsI've never heard of that lamp out warning when swapping an instrument cluster.

no i did at first when i had replicas itll just say left turn signal out but when i got the originals it stopped giving me codes, ill try disconnecting them and reconnecting see if that does anything or disconnect the battery for a bitThat's interesting. Given what Hunterdan said (quote below), you've had those errors for a long time, but they just weren't being displayed by the small cluster. So, you've never noticed any of those errors when scanning for codes or anything? Just curious.
If this isn't the issue, check each tail light. Even if one LED is not working, it will throw the lamp out warning.Have somebody step on the brake pedal while you watch the 3rd brake light on the top of the cab.Quite often it will be the 3rd brake light that's the issue.
