I have a 2014 Ram 1500 tradesman. I have access to a 2015 Ram 1500 with a 8.4 uconnect. What all would i need to take out of the 2015 Ram to make the 8.4 uconnect conversion into my 2014. Screen, bezel, fan blower, and blower module? Any advice will help me

Going from a 5.0 Uconnect with manual a/c controls to an 8.4 Uconnect (which has touchscreen climate controls) will take alot more than just a headunit and plugNplay. @Mpgrimm2 on this Forum is the master at guiding folks with this conversion. In addition, you will require "flashing" your BCM with the proper a/c protocol, along with the AlfaOBD app and an OBDII dongle (like OBD Link). Additionally, you'll need to swap the radio bezel (with a/c controls), an adapter harness, a new a/c module, a cabin humidity sensor and headliner harness, and a cabin temp sensor. I did the 5.0 to 8.4 swap as well for my 2014 and for me it was well worth it! I put in a 2018 UAQ Nav/CarPlay/AA unit (which also needed a usb hub swap and adapter harness) and "flashed" everything myself, with no dealership needed. Hope this helps!

Just upgraded my 2017 Express from a 5.0 Uconnect with the 8.4 Uconnect and bezel out of a 2017 Laramie. Mpgrimm2 was of great help with getting me a harness and AC module to make this process work.

Shout out to Mpgrimm2 for the excellent help and product. Thanks Mpgrimm2

As someone has already stated " You can spend more, but you can't get better" much agreed. He is very reasonable for His products

When you say you flashed everything yourself, what exactly was needed? I replaced my 2015 Tradesman 5.0” with an 8.4” from a 2017 Cherokee. Everything works except nav and XM. XM screen gives me an “ antenna error. See dealer for service.” message. I was under the impression this would be a plug and play upgrade. Do you think a dealer flashing the truck for the new radio is required?

You do realize if the truck didn't have SXM or Nav, then you probably don't have the antenna for them either and you'll need to add one, don't you?

Did you add a SXM antenna to the truck (puck on the dash) or the Mopar one on the roof (the shark fin)?

The truck has an XM antenna and XM has worked flawlessly for 11 years until I changed the radio yesterday.

If I understand correctly XM/GPS share an antenna. Mine is a puck-style (not shark fin) on the rear roof.

Ok, didn't realize you had SXM previously. Are you sure the antenna connections are securely snapped in on back of head unit?

See post 3 and dbl check all is correct.
