What do I have to do to install a 2014 8.4 uconnect touch screen in my 17 tradesman with the small touch screen uconnect? I know I have to get the bezel for the larger screen but is their anything else I need?

Im not sure the 7 speed blower conversion is necessary, but my truck already had an 8.4 and 7 speed so I have not had to convert anything.

I did go from an RA3 ("nav capable") to an RA4 (factory nav built in) but that was literally just swapping the head units.

Yep I will tell you for sure popping the bezel off and replacing it is a piece of cake. If you have the right harnesses it should make it just plugging stuff in and fishing wires where they need to go.

CAN bus has made our lives easier, for sure...just plug and unplug modules!

Super easy! Longest part of the job is swapping the bezels in the center stack.

Don't let the instructions scare you off. Mpgrimm2 makes some really nice conversion harnesses that make the swap so simple.

I agree 100% it takes longer to take all those screws off the back of the bezel than the rest of the job lol.

I watched bat too but to drop 600 on the dash and harnesses doesn’t make worth while.

Alright. Sounds like you have the mics in the headliner (can make handsfree calls) with the camera display on the uC 5.0/Ra2 radio. To install the 2014 8.4 radio you will need...

- 8.4 radio
(Ra3 Vp3-NA or Ra4 VP4-NA?)

- 8.4 radio HVAC bezel
(1uj96xxxx Single Zone MTC or 1uj97xxxx Dual Zone ATC from a 13-18 truck can be used)

- 2014-2017 1500 HVAC module for RAx radios....
68268186Ax (AB, AC, etc) replaces 68183973Ax, 68236772Ax, 68239172Ax

(* If you can't find one for a reasonable price, a few people have successfully used the 2018 1500 module for UAx radios: 68366552AA )

Above parts can be bought new from an online Mopar parts dealer (see forum vendor AllMoparParts.com 'Benny' , Quirk Parts, etc, or you can search used salvage yards like Schram Auto, LKQ, eBay etc)

- 7 speed HVAC conversion harness ($145)
- cell error bypass ($30)

Wiring wise all the above is plug n play.

M² Mods.

I want to thank MPgrimm2 for the support in my install of the 8.4 Nav. I thought I had a newer radio install that would need a pigtail from MPgrimm, upon investigation by MPgrimm2, he let me know that the pigtail would not do me any good.

Thank you to an honest man here that saved me the cost of the unneeded pigtail. The cost would have been minor, but it is nice to run into an honest stranger.

Thank you again
