8.4 Uconnect only works after battery disconnect

ok before i go looking for another one i never thought to ask will a usa radio work in a Canadian truck? i completely forgot to ask that before, my truck was from Canada and brought to us.

Ok thanks for all the help. When I find and install a 68331631 and confirm it works(not that I have a different issue) I'll update the other thread on my experience.
Kinda bumbed this thing is so perfect being a year old, screen is like brand new..

Sounds like an easy sell! I went through something similar with my first UAS upgrade, when the radio was plugged in, the compass would quit working.

Every 2015 Ram truck, I have ever attempted to do anything electronically with has not cooperated. If I hear it's a 2015, I no longer offer to help and avoid making any electronic changes. Ram did something in the 2015 model that made them very finicky to change.

My reommendation, I'd go back to your stock radio. I don't believe it's the replacement radio, I believe it's something with the 2015 model year wiring or modules.

I'm sorry for your troubles

I have a 2016 and changed out the 5in display for a 8.4NAV display. I did nothing but swap out radios, worked great.

You may want to reach out to Infotainment (https://infotainment.com/). I had a friend who purchased a head from eBay for his 2014 and they were extremely helpful even though he didn’t buy the head from them. I used them when I upgraded my 2016 from the 5” to the 8.4”. They may help cut out some of the guesswork. Great company to deal with. There is also another guy whose name I can’t remember who is on the forum that makes custom cables who I used when I upgraded the faceplate to use the 8.4 for touchscreen HVAC. if I find his name I will update this as well.

so i finally found a 68331631 for a reasonable price, and got it installed today. every thing worked fine and i stepped up the firmware until i was at 40.1 all is good.

the fun part is i installed the 68306656av in order to get pictures of it working so i could try and resell it in the jeep community where it belongs. and now the dam thing works just fine with every freeken key cycle. i check and it has the same dang codes in it as before, never did anything to it, its just sat on the shelf for the last month and i ran the factor unit until now.
