Thanks!!

I did a quick oil change on it last night and finally got around to adding some antifreeze to the water. That's when I found I was wrong about having no leaks this morning. Apparently the heater core hose that connects at the firewall is leaking!!

I'm just going to pull the hose and loop it back on itself to bypass the heater core for now. Not like I need the heater anyways! :D and the truck is parked for the winter months.

Quick update. Took the truck down the track at the mopar nationals in Ohio yesterday. Ran a 15.01 at 93.8mph I'm pretty happy with that since it was only my 2nd ever time down a track.

I definitely need gears though truck was just getting to 3rd at the end of the track. The car I ran was a 5.7 challenger and I was really surprised when I was less than 1/2 a second behind him.

Ya I know and the best part is the car I ran against was a newer 5.7 challenger I was really surprised when I kept up that close. I have a video that'll ill try to get loaded when I get home tomorrow night.

What gears to u have.

I've just got stock 3.55's with an open diff right now. Going to get 4.10's and a tru-trac for it over the winter.

But you are alot lighter too lol those challengers are so damn heavy man they weigh almost as mich as my quad cab on 35s and toolbox fully loaded with tools (6200).

Either way man super impressive.

Thanks and Ya I think the challengers are around 4500 or so and I'd guess my truck would be around 5000-5200lbs

I picked up a few more goodies for the truck over the weekend as well.

a9ezahut.jpg

Got another gauge cluster so I could have the gear indicator and O/D lights (ratchet shifter is hard to see in the dark lol) the first cluster I bought was from a manual truck do it didn't have these.

I also grabbed the steering wheel from the newer ram to attempt to get my cruise control working and maybe even get rid of the air bag light. And the EVAP canister so now hopefully I will be running engine code free once I get that installed.

Also forgot to post pics of my new tint we finally got installed last week. Went 5% all around so its nice and dark now :D much better than the non tinted windows I've had the past month or two. Lol

Thanks man!! And the wrenching never seems to end!! (Which I'd never want it to anyways) :D

I've still got big plans for this old girl maybe someday I will finally be able to call it done? But probably not lol

Finally got around to adding this nice little touch I picked up on my trip last weekend. I like it since its nice and subtle and most people won't even notice it there

I would have expected far quicker than that!
Low 14s tops!

Certainly sounds like you need gears!
Did you stall that converter?
Did you have lots of wheel spin?

*shrug*

I bet it was still fun as all hell!

Oh it definitely was fun.

I was guessing I'd run around 14.5-14.8 so 15 flat wasn't to far off. I especially in full street trim with heavy 20's and hard tonneau cover.

Gears are a definite. Truck just hit third gear right at the end of the 1/4
Still running stock converter but plan on upgrading it eventually.
Don't think I had any wheel spin off line

I think with some weight reduction and a little more practice on the launch I can hit close much closer to the mid 14's

There's another member on here, ST-8 I believe that has very similar mods to me on his 04 and he's running low 14's (14.18 I think was his best of I remember right) but he has 4.56's so I know ill get there and may even 13's eventually.

Yea, I think a nice 2800 RPM stall would really wake it up.
Do you have anything done to the transmission?

Gears will certainly help. Too bad you're on the other end of the planet, I have a set of 17x8 aluminum take offs that'd really help ya. Get some 255/40R17s. Boom, instant regear!

Do you have a cam? If not I wouldnt get a stall until you know what cam your getting to match the set up. If u do a stall first then get a cam to match to get the best out of your set up

Just have the diablo performance trans tune that came on my Intune. I have a stage 3 sharadon valve body sitting at home just haven't had a chance to install it yet.

Ya I agree those 17's would be a huge help with track times if only you weren't so far lol

Yes I installed a comp 260 cam before I put the motor in the truck. So I'm planning on going with a 2800 maybe even 3000 stall converter when I do finally get one.
