Tranny is fixed and working great now! Turned out to be nothing more than a blown relay in my fuse box under the hood!! Of all the stupid things it could've been lol but I'm just happy it's working now.

Excellent swap! I'd never have though to put a Dakota cluster in a Gen II Ram. Neat!

Neither would I if I hadn't owned a Dakota for a few years and noticed they were the exact same shape. But the Dakota cluster worked out perfect never had to cut or trim anything to make it fit. Just had to change/move a few wires around on the harness that connects to the cluster but it works perfectly.

Here's another quick video I took last night. Just did a quick 0-100 run. Truck pulled pretty good, but will hopefully only get better as I get more of the little things on it tidied up and finished on it.

Not the video since I just used my phone and was coming up to a big hill at the end so had to cut it a little short.

This is 1 of the coolest 2nd gen builds I have seen. I'm excited for you to get it all dialed in. This is going to be a best of a truck once complete. You have any goals for track times, or is this just a fun toy to drive around with?

Thanks Matt! I think it's definitely going to be a fun little sleeper to mess with the ford and Chevy guys around here. As far as track times the truck will probably only ever see a track once maybe twice a year (closest track is just I've a 2 hour drive and would mean a day off work) but I'm hoping to be able to hit low-mid 14's with it for now.

Maybe shoot for a 13.xx sec pass once gears and conveter are done (next years list unless I find a deal I can't pass up) its mostly just going to be a fun street truck though. Any good track times will just be the cherry on top :D

Oh almost forgot I'm actually working on wiring in the new efan controller for on it right now so I can finally get rid of the ugly/power robbing clutch fan.

Efans are up and running and did a great job keeping the truck cool during the heat wave we had here last week. And if they kept it cool during that heat I'd say there going to work awesome.

Got sick my dash looking like a Christmas tree so I pulled my gauges out and covered up some bulbs. Looks much better now.

Also found my bad that ground and was amazed the truck even ran and never mind just having a headlight out!!

I had to cut about 6" out of every wire before finding good copper to reconnect to. What a nightmare that was had to dismantle half the fender to get at it again.

Good stuff, man. How's it pulling? Do you still have the stock '98 trans?

Thanks and its pulling pretty good I posted a video of a quick pull I did last week (post #46) not the best video but only one I've got so far.

And I swapped the original 46re out for the 545rfe the newer trucks come with. I'm sure there would have been a way to make my old trans work but it would've been a lot more work than just using the newer trans like I did.

Congrats this is an amazing swap.

Thanks man

Took the truck for a little road trip tonight to pick up a brand new sharadon stage 3 valve body tonight.

I've got almost 1000kms on the swap after tonight and all is still running well. The real test will come next week when I make the trip to Ohio for the mopar nationals.

AWSOME...I had a 98 2500....it had the 360 in it....but the heavy 3/4 ton suspention for the V10/Diesel...and I had someone do the work for me..it turned out great...I miss that truck. Your truck looks great...love the look of it.
