So for the past year I e had a slow Freon leak. Could never pin point it until tonight. I picked up an electronic sniffer. I started in the vents, then around the compressor and followed the hoses when the sniffer started going nuts at the manifold on the firewall.
I know nothing of A/C components.
Is this just a part I can fix or a gasket? Not sure.
Any help appreciated.

Could try a new expansion valve and o rings. They're cheap.

If I'm not mistaken, the expansion valve is behind those hoses and bracket. Use some liquid leak detector (soap bubbles) to pinpoint the leak.
It's probably cheap enough to replace the valve and o-rings. You'll need to have the system evacuated with a vacuum pump before you recharge the system refrigerant.

If it is a small leak, you could try snugging down that nut by 1/4 turns to see if it stops the leak. The metal fittings compress some o-rings to seal the system. The o-rings can take a set over time.

I just replaced my compressor, expansion valve, and condenser. There are O-rings/seals on both sides of the expansion valve. After you remove that nut and get the hard lines out of the way, there are two allen head screws holding the expansion valve in. Most importantly, be sure and lube all new O-rings/seals with PAG oil before reassembly.
