Before retiring, traveled over 4 states with my job. Took my Ram to a number of dealerships for recalls, oil changes, etc. Have ALWAYS had friendly and professional service.
Since retiring, take the Ram to our local dealership. This is the second recall I've taken it there for. This dealership is, as others, very accommodating. Appointment made easily. Met with smiles and greetings. Clean waiting area. Truck in and out in promised time.
Scratching my head on this last one. Wife, granddaughters, and I traveled over a 4-hour trip the Saturday before my Tuesday appointment. (Did not read the recall well and did not realize it might have been unsafe to us the cruise.) Used it on the trip and it worked perfectly.
Took it in on that Tuesday for the cruise recall. As anticipated, dealership had the truck in and out in about 20 minutes. As I was leaving, he said "Now you can use your cruise control safely." Okay. Had been using it anyway.
A couple days later was the first time I had it on the highway after the recall. Went to engage the cruise and nothing! The on/off button on the steering column would not turn the cruise on. Hmmm... worked okay until dealership did recall work on cruise. Called dealership. Explained problem. Another appointment made for them to diagnose. Well, they say the button in the steering column is faulty. Say it had nothing to do with their recall fix as the fix was only done with the PCM. Want $107.00 to put in a new switch.
Yes, I understand their work undoubtedly had nothing to do with the switch failing. Just a real coincidence that it was working when I took it in and not afterwards. Never really believe in coincidences. For the $107 may not be worth getting worked up. Still left a little doubt in my mind as to the capabilities of the service folks.
Still have really enjoyed my Ram and should I purchase another truck would consider another one.
