Time for new tires, my nitto Terra grapplers got me stuck in 2 inches of peanut butter mud this weekend going to the dove fields... so, I need new tires... undecided on bf goodrich a/ts, nittos terras again, or nittos trail grapplers.... mostly ride on the road but I do go to our property on weekends.. also drive 85 miles round-trip for work every day... so any suggestions on tires on something that would last? Thanks.
285 x 20 is what I have right now I'm pretty sure.. or295

I have the terras also, they are wearing well with 26k on them so far and those are mostly highway miles, but I have never taken them in much mud. How many miles did you get out of yours?

That's pretty good for terras. That's one reason I bought mine. I read a lot of reviews about them lasting 40-50k plus.

If you that much driving, I wouldn't recommend the Trail Grapplers. While great off road, I'm afraid they'll have a bad impact on your mileage. If you cab loose 1-2 mpg then I say go for them, definitely good tires off road. I had the Terra Grapplers for a while on my last truck and hated them. Pavement was a little wet and they would slip and slide - not fun if you've ever needed to pull out in front of traffic and have your tires leave you going nowhere.

I would say in your case best bet would be go for the BFG a/t. Will be decent off road and still look aggressive yet won't kill your mpg.

I have 37" m/t's on my diesel but I never drive it. Not a good choice for street use kuz it's a softer rubber. But I'd go with BFG a/t tires. All around good tire and they are offered in Kevlar if you go rock crawling :) post up some pics of what u go with.

The cooper zeon ltz tires are awesome on the highway, good for offroad also.... I had them in my older Ford 4x4. Great in sand and light mudd. But in slick thick mud, they couldn't clean them selves.... And I went a lot of places with the 305/55 r20..... And put 40k on them and still had over a 1/4 tread left over. Just throwing some info out. Hope it helps.

Droid incredible 2 on the move!

I have had great luck with my zeons. I got about 25k on them and they still look great. I do about a 70 mile round trip daily commute. Have taken them off road plenty of times in thicker mudd with no trouble. Good all around tire and for the price you can't go wrong. Do your homework w/ pricing and shopping around but I got all 4 out the door for $720.

i agree...with that much driving a day you won't want a mud tire. While it will look bad ass it will affect your mileage, and they just won't last as long

Firestone Destination AT's are very good tires too. When I was researching before buying, those tires got top ratings. I don't have any experience with them, everything I read about them was very very good. I almost put them on my 05 ram, but went with Wild Country XTX's. Those tires are awesome and ride great too. I have thought about putting them on my 08 when it's due for new shoes.

MMMM I love Peanut Butter. Have you ever thought about some Mickey Thompson tires. I have Baja MTZ on both my wife and my truck. Just a idea.

You could check out hankook dynapro AT/M that's what I have on my truck I do about 50 miles round trip a day just for work. I have put about 12000 on them they are doing good so far. They were cheaper then most I priced out and they do good on the little bit of off road I have done with them.

Coopers ftw... now what's the difference between tire size? I'm running 305/55r20.... they Duh at full turn sometimes.. what's the difference between 285 and 305??? And do I have to run Lt's? Because I noticed the lt tires are a good bit more expensive.

It's the width I believe.... 305 is like 12 inches, and a 285 is closer to 11inches wide.... That's my understanding
