hello,
Ram 1500 2004 5.7
the AC was cooling with 1500rpm or more. While idling, it was not cooling. So i charged the system with cooling fluid. But the pressure was already very high. was in red on the manometer. after 30sec the clutch at the compressor was smoking. whats broken? expansion valve, clutch..?

I'm guessing there was possibly a valve issue with the compressor and adding refrigerant you over charged the system or possible that the cooling fan wasn't running (would also cause a high suction pressure).

So i changed the compressor, the accumulator and also the orifice tube line.
After filling, the pressure went up to 350psi again...
any recomendations?
Most of the pressure lines also get very hot.
thx

Did you evacuate the system before charging and the weigh the refrigerant charge in? Is the condenser coil clean, stuff can get packed inside the fins.
