I’ve been having this problem when I turn my truck on, my ac won’t start I turn it on and there’s a little click like noise but nothing I turned the air on full blast and checked the compressor and it was working but still nothing. It will work sometimes takes it has freon. And guess what could be the problem? TIA

If the compressor is engaging, my guess is that there either is not enough refrigerant or perhaps there is air in the line. I would have a test conducted where they put a dye in the system to look for leaks. Once they is done and any problems resolved they will recharge system.

Many modern AC compressors do not work like the ones in the “good ol’ days”. Just because the compressor clutch engages…does not mean the compressor will pump freon (proper term these days is “refrigerant”)

Many modern compressors have an internal swash-plate that regulates the actual amount of refrigerant pumped. I had a GM product that behaved this way…the compressor clutch would engage and the compressor rotate….but no cooling because no high-pressure developed due to that newer design.

While I’m not certain about the Mopar/OEM compressor design… I’m wondering if that possibility isn’t the trouble. You’re gonna have to use gauges on the system to find out.
