I am Luddite. This ( '17 Laramie) is my first long term experience with new fangled push button instead of real key.

I don't want to start / have running engine to put windows up / down , or to listen to radio .

When l first got it , the radio would play for another 2 min or so after shutting off engine , before opening door , now , it's instant .

Is there some way to have equivalent of " Acc " , or am l stuck with screaming at clouds ?

I have a Uconnect 4C 8.4" radio, which has a setting for that. I keep mine set at maintaining power for 10 minutes after engine shutdown.

I have had mine reset to 0 minutes on more than 1 occasion. I am currently unable to locate the picture. I'll grab a new one tomorrow AM if I haven't found it already on my PC or if someone else hasn't posted it. Check the radio options in your owner's manual.

In somewhat the same situation with a new to me 2014. Just now, I am doing a self programmed routine. I get in and start up, push the Audio button, Audio Off comes up on the panel. Lights at shut off last about long enough for me to get out of the truck and close the garage door. Haven't programmed the garage door opener, I still use the module. I plan to have this truck for a good while and I like the quote from Crossfire Trail - "Well, see, if you take your time... you get a more harmonious outcome.”

I'll post a picture of the setting when I start my PC.

Audio Button ?

On the big screen in the middle , there's an icon for " radio " .

There's a buncha stuff on that screen, but all l use/ understand are the heat & defrost , and the satellite radio . ( Still need to get daughter to set the " buttons " to my stations .)

There are options for exterior lights to remain on and interior power options on the same page in settings.

I will see if I can get it from the softcopy owners manual. It's cold and raining outside, I'm not going out again tonight.

Look in the Uconnect Settings/key-off delay.

I'm not certain of the available options on your Uconnect radio.
What is the model number of your radio?
The Owner's manual should list that info.

The Uconnect 4C/4C NAV 8.4" has options for the headlights on for approach and headlight off delay.

The headlight off delay is also activated by selecting the Auto Headlight position.

Cool -ish ! Line / button/ whatever #21 will keep power on for a while after turning off engine .

Is there any way to turn on power , without starting engine ? I hate to start engine for 5 seconds just to put window up / down .

*********************************

I am self aware of my failings . I have no freaking clue of first step to start programming any of this stuff . I realize a vehicle from the previous decade or so with a real key , and controls with real knobs and levers is but a fantasy.

So l'm pragmatic enough to know my best possibility is to slip someone a $50 to do it . If they can understand what l want , and not laugh at me , it's worth it .

Do l need to look for a generic geek , or specifically a Dodge Technician ?

Cool ! Just tested it , and it works !

To access the Uconnect radio settings options in my truck, and likely yours, the ignition has to be in the 'Run' position. Tapping the start button twice without stepping on the brake pedal will accomplish this without starting the engine.

On a parallel topic to the radio staying on after shutting engine off....

Couple months back I was on a call, and got to my destination before the call ended. Phone was not connected to the truck, as I was using blue tooth ear buds for better sound quality. After a period of time...maybe 10 minutes? Since I hadn't opened the door yet, the truck apparently thought I had fallen asleep or died or something and a very loud audible tone emitted from the speakers startling the crap out of me.

Now when I shut the truck off, if I'm going to be sitting for a few minutes I open and close the door right away.

That loud tone sounds kind of rude.

If you have no use for having any accessories powered after you shut off the engine, there is an option for 0 seconds for the headlight off delay. That would likely take care of that annoying tone.

Is there any message flashed on the EVIC when you hear this tone?
