I had a Fox Box and single 10" sub in my 4th gen and always wanted just a little more bass.
I just ordered a 12" Single Sub Fox Box and a Kicker CompR 12" Sub along with an ANC By-Pass Harness. Simple and cheap (enough).
I was going to order 2 10" subs, dual box, new amp and spend over double the money, but I already have a decent amp that will push a 12" sub to the limit, so why not use it?

The question is can I tie into the ANC module to get signal to the sub and leave my factory 8" sub working, or do I have to use the factory subs signal to run the new setup?
I think it would be awesome to not even touch the 8" sub behind the seat and have both of them working together.

Any input on this is greatly appreciated. It will be a couple of weeks before the sub box arrives. Hopefully by then ill have a good game plan in mind.

Thanks

First off, good idea for more bass!!! I’m a fan of loud, clear music !!! I just added two 12s, BOSS 1100 amp, all kicker replacement door & dash speakers. The head unit is stock and felt no need to replace due to amount it pushes my door & dash.

Now as far as leaving your 8 in place to **** with your 10…. I would suggest not only for two reasons…
1. You are upgrading to get louder bass, which means you are gonna push the heck outta that 10 & the poor lil 8 gonna give all it can until it blows…
2. Sound distortion- depending on several factors- RMS, WATTS & ohms of the two different speakers can create super nasty imbalance in sound & performance… send picture of your system… I’ll post a few of mine once I get home… have a good one bro…

Its been installed for awhile now, and im loving it. Ive never had a ported box before so it took some getting used to. The bass is much more 'drawn out' and it catches lower notes, but it doesnt have that tight punch like it did with my previous sealed boxes.
Also, with it being ported it takes half the power to get the same amount of sound that a sealed box requires. I keep my bass level a little over half way up. I feel like if went 100% it would blow the sub!
Im pretty sure my 8" factory sub was disabled when I installed the ANC module. Everything is still wired and connected, but no sound comes out the factory sub.
Im happy I went this route because im already looking at a 2500 next year, and I can trade this truck in with everything still intact. No cut or spliced wires anywhere.
