So I just payed off my 2017 1500, 350 with short bed and ram boxes.

When I bought it in Cali I didn’t need to haul much, so the short bed didn’t hurt.
We moved to rural Oklahoma and now I’m really missing a full size bed.
I know the wheel bases are different but are there any options for a longer bed shirt if going custom flat bed?

Anything is possible with sufficient money, But have you considered an 8' utility trailer? Easy to tow and actually easier to load and unload than your truck.

The difference between the 5.7' and 6.4' beds on the 1500s is the distance between the rear wheel well and cab. There are probably work bodies or flat beds if you have the 6.4' bed but you probably looking at something completely custom for the 5.7' bed.
A utility trailer is something worth considering as 6x12 will hold lots more than even an 8' bed pick up.

Very true. I’ve been eyeing a few on Craigslist. That would be the simplest solution and I can tow more than haul anyway

This. I bought a 5’x10’ trailer from Home Depot for $1k, and a few hundred in thick plywood and pressure treated 2’x4’s to make 2’ walls, and made myself a great utility trailer. Larger than any truck bed, and cheaper than a new truck. This was before I owned a ram, so we needed something from time to time to haul things that wouldn’t fit in our KL Cherokee. Now that I have that and a truck, I am unstoppable lol
