I want to lift the front on my 2014 Ram 1500. I need some advise. On my 2007 I just installed HBS spacers, alignment, and I was done. Now with my 2014, I'm reading about ball joint issues and I would need new control arms. I really didn't want to spend a fortune but I'm not sure what I should do. New control arms or not? HBS spacer or Bilstein 5100's? How has the best prices on what I need? I appreciate any help.

A lot of guys with 2013+ trucks seem to be having the ball joint issue. If it were me in a 2014 truck, I would just plan on changing out the upper control arms at the same time to avoid even dealing with it. I've heard both spacers and leveling shocks have popped the ball joints.

Spacers are cheaper, and some guys really like them. I have 5100's on my 2010 and love them. I would go that route if you can find them, they're on back order I guess. Think there another leveling shock out there but can't remember the name.

Just to be sure, this is a 4x4 right?

Yes it's 4x4. I would like to put the control arms and Bilstein's. Where can I get the best prices?

bilsteins will be a much greater ride, check out Burla's thread about bilsteins vs. strut spacers, lots of great info, i had spacers on my titan, never had an issue, this truck will be getting bilteins or fox's but likely bilstein for the little extra height

5100's set on level 2, no brainer IMO. read the link in my sig. I had both coil spacers and 5100's set on the top level, and I now have 5100's on 2nd level. I hated the coil spacers, they are a bad idea and will end up being more expensive in the long run and a rough ride. I don't know about the pre loads, guys seam to love them. So in other words, my advice is ANYTHING except coil spacers.
