What uConnect system did you replace? I am going to assume the head unit was not plug and play. Did you have to purchase any additional harness?

Thanks. I may go this route for camera with moving lines. The OEM back up camera kit for the 5.0 uConnect is going to run me probably $300 plus a factory computer flash. For a little bit more I could get a better head unit with more functions.

Ohh yeah it wasn't plug in play, I needed axxess harness to wire up the head unit and axxess steering wheel controls. It took me the longest time to figure out why I wasn't getting any sound out of the speakers once everything was wire up.

Just to clarify. Your back up camera has back up lines. Are they the moving lines (back up lines move when you move the steering wheel). All that I have read states that the only moving lines that you can get are with the OEM camera for the 2013-2014.

Ohh, didnt catch the moving lights part. No mine does not have that. Dont really care about that anyways.

It's a little intimidating with all that cutting from the DIY thread. Just looks like it would be pretty easy to cut the wrong thing or over cut something.

pretty hard to mess up, once your looking at it you will see.. your making a little square into a big square by cutting off the bottom. I did mine in less than 5min. The metal your cutting does nothing for the new deck. your just getting the metal out of the way. If you have a sawzall or a friend with one it takes 30 seconds to do. just set the blade on the bottom left cut, set it on the bottom right cut ....done ....

Does Crutchfield have anything you like? They may have the harness to make the head unit plug&play.

Yes, I am interested in most of the double din nav units they have. For an example Pioneer AVIC-6000NEX Navigation receiver at Crutchfield.com or Kenwood Excelon DNX691HD Navigation receiver at Crutchfield.com they all say they come with instillation gear, not really sure if that means everything I would need. I'm not sure of that because as I mentioned before, I kind of have no idea what I'm doing in regards to this haha.

When you say plug and play there's still some cutting involved though, correct?

To be honest. I still need to modify mine a little. It doesn't line up with the holes all the way. I thought about using a saws all but was a little scared to do inside my truck..lol..
