Yesterday, I was out and about running errands. I normally exit the truck and push the door handle lock to lock the truck, but yesterday I used the key fob to lock it.
When I was going to leave, I was going to throw some stuff on the passenger seat, I grabbed the door handle on the passenger side to unlock all the doors and it wouldn't open.
I went around the drivers side and grabbed the door handle and it unlocked but the horn started blasting like crazy. I tried many different things to turn the horn off - keyfob, lock and unlock with key etc etc but it wouldn't stop. I jumped into the truck and thought maybe starting it would stop the horn. The truck started but not the horn. I shut the truck off and again tried the keyfob.
Security came over and the guy tried tapping the door with the keyfob and said something about "limp mode" but it didn't work.
I was finally able to start the truck and turn off the horn by repeatedly pressing the panic button. Even the extra keyfob my wife had wouldn't turn it off.
What could have gone wrong. The above sequence that happened might be a bit different than what actually occurred as an horn going off in underground parking causes one to try many different things at once in an effort to stop the blasting!
