Went out this morning to my unlocked vehicle. Opened driver side rear door, alarm sounded.

Can’t figure out how the alarm could “Arm” with unlocked doors.

Any thoughts?

This morning opened driver’s side rear door to my UNLOCKED vehicle. Alarm went off.

Is it possible to arm the vehicle without it being locked? How?

The only thing that comes to mind is a physical malfunction. i.e. the door did not physically lock when the lock button on the door or remote was pressed. Therefore the truck's computer thought it was locked even though it wasn't. Were the other doors locked? Is it working now? I recently noticed on my wife's Jeep that if you lock the vehicle with the remote, reach in through an open window and manually unlock the door, then open it, the alarm still goes off. I haven't tried it on my truck yet but FCA tends to use the same logic on all their vehicles.

I believe all of the other doors were unlocked. The vehicle was in my garage.

Seems like a 1x occurrence. Everything seems to have returned to normal. Lock/Unlock/Arm.

Makes me crazy when you can’t reproduce it.

I get the same deal with 2015 3500 . Maybe once a month walk up to unlocked truck, open door and alarm sounds. No pattern / scenario I can identify. How can it be enabled? Today I parked, came out of store 5minutes later and it did it.

Same sort of question. My alarm will go off at times when I try to open a door. However, I can’t cause it to go off when I want it to. So actually, I don’t know if it works or not. The dealer said that if a window was broken and then the door unlocked from the inside it would trigger. I probably won’t try that.
