Does it have the option to fold the mirror? I’d love to be able to add that in. These parking spots seem to get narrower and narrower every year. I already had someone bust out the mirror of my truck. Grrr!

If you don't already have power folding mirrors you will need a number of parts (besides the mirrors) but yes, AlphaOBD can turn on the needed options once you have the hardware.

I’ve downloaded the trial software off of alfaOBD.com and looks very very neat. I can’t wait to get it licensed and try it out.

Awesome! Yeah I know I’ll need new door modules and the switch for drivers door along with the correct mirrors. I’ve done a lot of research, just wanted to make sure it’s available. I’m super pleased with what I’ve seen with the trial. And I was able to use my WiFi module and my Bluetooth modules perfectly with the trial. I wasn’t able to modify anything of course.

How long does it usually take to get an activation code for AlfaOBD? And will that code work for both android and windows? It states in their website the cost is for both versions. I’ve sent the request for activation via windows platform but haven’t heard anything back.

@Aaron Gilliam As far as the power fold settings, no one has accomplished this because of not having everything installed. I've thought about taking the plunge and purchasing the door modules and switch but decided I like my current setup.

When contacting the developer, I've found it can take up to 24hrs for a response as he is in Germany.

Sorry for so many questions! I downloaded the demo on my android phone and I see on some of the RAM modules it says to use the blue adapter. Is there a schematic or something that one can make this? Or is it even necessary?

This is why most purchase the OBDLink MX Bluetooth as there is nothing else needed to access any of the modules. Take a look at the link below.

When downloading from the Google Play, activation if I remember correctly was immediate with no need to wait. Just the Windows version.

If you're thinking of purchasing mirrors, modules and the switch you might want to consider which mirrors you purchase as there are different versions of the power fold. Only the premium version of the power fold have the ability for tilt in reverse if you should want that feature as well.

Link to post for identification and a quick search will pull up many more. These mirrors have the chrome cover and come from higher trim levels. You can actually find these used on eBay and Car-part for under $300 used. Believe my set came from a 16' Laramie for around $250.

With Alfa I realize you can turn on your drls, but is there more detail options? I plan on upgrading to projectors at some point but I want to have the led board be 100% power, not at 50%. Then blink off-on-off-on. Any ideas before pulling this trigger?

@Ghost_RAM I had a post bookmarked that had the correct part numbers for the high end power folds, but now I can't find it lol. Do you happen to have the part numbers available for the mirrors that support memory/auto-dim

I have factory projectors on my Limited and just activated my DRL. If you look back a page you'll see my headlights. They use the turn signals at 100% power and blink on-off for turn signals. Once you finish the turn they go back to 100% brightness. They only dim back down when the headlights are on.

I might play around with the settings and see if I can use my high beams as DRL.

The thing I find odd and concerning is it says that if I’m not using the OBDLink MX that I need to use the blue adapter OR make sure the cars OBD plug pins 3 and 11 are connected to pins 6 and 14 of the interface. On my truck there is no wires in pin positions 3 and 11.

I’ll attach pictures of the OBD port.

I know I could save time and just buy the OBDLink MX but now I’m not sure it will work with my 2012 ram.

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to everyone that has contributed to this thread and especially to @Chach for helping me out.

Just reset my TPMS settings with the app and it worked like a charm! Super easy and just took a couple minutes.

Next on the list is to figure out how to change the tire size.

The ones I got from eBay had 68231242AF / 68231243AD.

On a side not I was able to successfully enable power fold mirrors in.a 2015 Express today so we can cross that off the list if it hasn't already been verified.
