I may pull the trigger, I though I was getting smartbeam when I bought my last mirror (my mistake) but it was autodim only.

Although it did take them 3 separate time before they got me one with the smart beam as described. It's better if the can get you a picture of the mirror or vert least the actual part number. Persistence is the name of the game. Mine was only 60.00

It was amazing how long it took me to get the correct mirror for the smart beam as well. I had to basically walk the wrecking yards through it so they knew what I was talking about.

I pulled the trigger on the 1500 mirror listing. It specifically says auto high beams so if there is an issue I can send it back without much fuss. thanks all for the help :).

Are you using the paid or demo version of AlfaOBD?

I've heard of some experiencing issues with connection that was leaving off the bottom portion of the BCM (all the CSMs) You can try to totally close out the program and disconnecting the OBDLink MX. Then reconnecting and seeing if it comes back up.

You just have to take your time and only enable things you either know or from the known working list of things that will work with your setup. You will get codes thrown if you don't have the equipment/modules installed or it is not for your truck. The thing to remember about the Alfa program is that it is not only for RAM trucks.

From the sounds of things, you might want to scan over your original BCM config and compare it to what you have now. Then go through the settings and revert it back to the stock configuration. This will more than likely solve all your issues.

Since he can't figure out what he has done and he is having so many issues I personally would consider taking the truck to the dealer and getting it reflashed to stock and start over. There is no way at this point to tell what has been changed because of the problems he has had with the tool.

Yeah, was hoping to avoid the added expense but you’re I’m afraid you’re right.

I know the 2017+ trucks have microphones in the headliner and not the mirror, but can I use a 2016 or earlier smartbeam mirror in my 17 truck?

believe my OBDLink mx is defective or I just could not read my csm without that missing part it will be impossible to finish with some configurations that I had thought a lot of this module

Plugs are most likely different if the don't have to have the mic on there but you could try to find pictures of them both to know for sure

I use the Windows version and everything works fine.

So, I picked up the Windows version of AlfaOBD and am using the OBDLink SX (USB) cable that is supposed to be supported. I am able to connect (and stay connected) correctly.
I noted and cleared one intermittent error code that is not an issue to me (P1009 Humidity Sensory Module). It cleared successfully. So we have bidirectional communication established.

When I go to Body Computer ECU and select MY'13-17 (I have a 2014 Quad Cab Sport), the display reads "2014-2017".

If I select "Car Configuration Change" under the Active Diagnostic tab, I can scroll through the list. From the list I chose DRL Configuration and then Optional DRL. When I click "Start", it returns an error that reads " FAILED. Service Not Supported in Active Diagnostic Screen".

Am I trying to do something in the wrong place? Any other thoughts?

Thanks

Do you have the key in the Run position, Engine off? Both Ricks Ram and I have 2014s so I don't think it's a model year question. Another thing to consider is if the OBDLink is genuine, there are a lot of knock-offs out there. I'm not sure how to do that though short of opening it up and checking the chip.
