A stupid question but have to ask !

On a RAM 1500 with a Pentstar motor have the same alignment specs if it had a Hemi ?
Asking because the alignment I had a few moths ago is eating the inside of the brand new front tires with maybe 1500 on them

Thanks

Damn, I'd like to think so, the chassis is the chassis, IMO.

But, I wouldn't be surprised if I were wrong....lol

I hope you get it straightened out, and get some new shoes if they've damaged yours with an improper alignment.

Thanks for the replies !
Never had a issue with old tires !
Both front tires are wearing same side so IMO he used same spec both sides
Supposed to give me new tires and I assume free realignment
And I want to be sure they give me b4 and after spec sheets they did not staple the first set to my bill

Thank you!
I was surprised when he said the Tech screwed up :O
And they IMO went above and beyond to make it right !
I will be doing more business with them for sure

That alignment was pretty bad if it ate tires in 2K miles. When I had new tire put on had the shop check for bad wheel bearings but turned out it was just the alignment that made the AT type tires noisy going down the road, probably would have got 70K out of those tires if winter wasn't approaching.

Found an older post with what appears to be the alignment specs for the Gen4 trucks post 2011

I set my toe-in to a bit less than 1/8" at front of tire. That's with all new front end parts. You might have someone who knows what they're doing check those lower ball joints. They are one of the first things to wear on these trucks. What's good is the ball joint stud pushes 'up' ...so as they wear the weight of the truck pushes them into a pocket in the socket (so they don't feel as loose). But it also means they can be worn and not really know it until like braking or bumps. So have someone who knows what they're doing ...check them.

The ones on my truck, once ya undid the knuckle, I could lift the lower ball joint studs up/down 1/8" with my fingers... LOL. Everything else on the front end was still fairly tight after 180k miles. And it generally drove great, I had no ideal the B-Js were worn. Also, the upper a-arm bushings (one on each A-arm) had some definite wear and looseness too (but not totally shot). The lower strut bushing was cracking to the point of concern as well. All the front-end weight of the pickup is on those bushings.

Those are the kind of wear-points which could silently affect your truck's tire wear by causing more 'flexing' when ya brake (wheels splay out) ...than would be the case with tighter joints. In the case of the upper a-arm bushings, you can't really see them as they sit in the mouting pockets (same with the lowers). Ya almost have to remove them to inspect.

I replaced all my truck's suspension/steering with new TRW (what the factory used) and all new brakes and Schaffler hubs (I had one which had failed). Drives great now.

Anyway, keep your eye on the tire wear. If you notice anything, have the suspension checked. Replacing the lower ball joints isn't that bad of a job (for a shop).

Great info Thanks

The manager and Tech went over the whole front end !
Did a Shake Down I think they called it looking for anything loose !
So all wear items are OK
But the 1st tech just really screwed it up and he is no longer working there !
Guess he screwed up more then just my truck :O And been gone a few months
