its been awhile since someone posted here, but the Infinity REF-3002cfx are discontinued. does anyone know the replacement option is ?
They're on Crutchfield and Amazon. Crutchfield is actually cheaper right now. $50 for the pair, free harnesses, free shipping, free installation instructions.

Eventually I'll go full custom but until I've paid off my 15 year anniversary trip with the missus, I figured I'd give these options a try. I bought two pair of the dash speakers so if anyone is interested in buying the fourth one, let me know. Everything should arrive on Friday.

Just installed mine and you will not be disappointed! I suggest installing one, turning the radio on, and fading it left and right...night and day.

Suggestions for the install: dont use the foam that goes around the speaker, it wont fit that way.
Also, for the bolt that's by the windshield, a 7mm socket wedged in the closed end of a wrench works perfect...ask me how I know lol (I didnt have a socket driver small enough to use without an adaptor, too big to use with the adaptor on)

:favorites13: Thanks for the tip! I was just looking at the space to work in up there near the windshield on my way home tonight, trying to figure out how best to do that.

I have a '15 2500 CC with the 8.4AN Alpine premium sound system. Since I have been in the audio industry for over 35+ years, i know what to listen for and I felt the dash speakers were muddy sounding and the bass was tubby and not very tight sounding. Thus, I did lots and lots of research trying to find a smooth balance of sound. I also wanted to keep the dash speakers at the same efficiency as the OEM speakers so they would balance out with the remaining OEM speakers. So here is what I upgraded to:

Dash speakers: I installed Infinity Reference X REF-3002cfx. They were a direct drop in / plug and play install using Metra 71-039C adaptors. They are much more detailed sounding and have more "sparkle" than the OEM speakers. Makes for a nice image.

Subwoofer: It was tough to find an 8" dual 2 ohm subwoofer with a shallow enough mounting depth for the factory under rear seat enclosure. The Pioneer TS-SW2002D2 fits perfect - even the holes line up. Make sure you use the gasket that comes with the woofer. Also, PROPERLY plug the hole in the bottom of the enclosure where the screw that went into the back of the factory woofer. (You'll see what I mean when you take it apart) It is 100% plug and play using a Metra 72-6514 adapter.
Definitely a cleaner tighter, more accurate bass. It "may" be a tad louder but it is much less muddy and you really 'feel' it when it hits.

The system sounds pretty good with these upgrades. I am pleased with it. Hope this info helps some of you.

So I bought the exact model numbers that the OP used and installed them yesterday. I think his description of the difference over the factory speakers is fairly spot on. There is definitely a noticeable difference. And a positive difference at that. For more money, it could be better, sure, but the increase in sound quality was enough to warrant the money spent. Not everyone will agree with that but I figured I'd add my opinion since I used the exact same speakers.

Installation is ridiculously easy. The most difficult part is the screw closest to the windshield in the center.

Anyhow, this was a great suggestion and I appreciate the OP sharing the information.

So, you can just replace the sub without using a LOC and amp and still have it sound better than the factory setup?

That is correct. Not a huge difference but definitely noticeable.

Hey, I just ordered the Infinity Reference X REF-3002cfx speakers for my 2016 Ram dash. When I was talking to Crutchfield, he said that the center one seems to be about a 1/2 inch too big...the circumference of the magnet. I'm going off from what you all said here....you were able to get that center one to fit in??

For anyone following this, the middle speaker fits. You just have to screw the speaker down to make it fit in its hole correctly. It will seem like it wont fit before the screws are in to secure it.

Weird...Bill just private messaged me back and he said his basically just dropped in. Either way, it sounds like it will fit. I'm sure if it was an issue, others would had said so by now in this thread.

This is an older post, but a great one...

This may be old news, but Crutchfield no longer carries the Infinity Reference 3002cfx speakers. They have been replaced with the newer 3022cfx speakers. They look identical, so I took a chance and purchased them. I can confirm that the 3022cfx fits PERFECTLY within the Ram's 3 front speakers.

As mentioned countless times above, these speakers sound great! Much better than the Alpine speakers.

I replaced the three dash speakers, the sub, and the rear doors yesterday. I ran out of time to do the front doors but have everything here and will get them done next weekend. I have an extra Infinity 3022cfx dash speaker and adapter if anyone is looking for a third dash speaker.
Need to spend more time listening to it while driving but I could definitely tell a difference with the replacements over the stock speakers after install yesterday. Biggest surprise was the rear door speakers. The stock were very muffled and "muddy" sounding. I put a set of Infinity reference 6x9 9623ix in even though I have read the rears don't get a full signal. Well, the 3 way speakers are a HUGE improvement. The sound from them is full range and you get a lot of adjustment from the equalizer to help offset some of the high frequencies they are now putting out. I wish I had the money to spend right now on a new head unit and amps but that will come later this year. The sub change(Pioneer TS-SW2002D2) is an improvement but still lacks what I had in my old truck. The install went pretty good. The sub was the simplest part. The dash speakers aren't bad but the center one is a little tight working on the back bolt and then reconnecting the sensor cable. I did have an issue with the adapter plug not wanting to connect on one of them and it turns out it was the pin alignment inside the adapter. If you have one that won't go back together, check that before you try and force it!
The rear door panels were simple to remove and replace which is really nice!
I forgot to mention this was on a 2017 3500 CC.
