Anyways to my question as I wasn't aware that led lights could cause flickering issues that 2015 trucks have with HIDS.

Yesterday I installed two 36w led cree pods using the same plug/harness that the truck uses for the fogs. I replaced the stock fogs with LED'S.

All tested fine off the truck. With parking lights the fogs operate fine, however when I turn my low beams on the right fog sometimes flickers. If I switch the truck on and drive the flickering of the right led gets worse, constant flickering.

Any ideas? Me personally I blame the truck itself, the truck stock oem lights would flicker often when driving even before these changes. Google shows a few hits about the headlight flickering. Aparantly there is a tsb for headlight flicker. Whereby they boost the voltage or something.

Anyways, would like to hear feedback.

Limey, I had the same issue on my 13. I eventually put a relay in the circuit. I'mont a big fan of resistors as the heat generation scares me.

Now all rock solid.

I was under the impression the anti flicker modules are primarily for those that need to setup a canbus hid system. I had thought that led in fogs didn't give issues like flickering, lol thought I'd already mastered that area with what works and what doesn't.

So I have now moved the flickering led pod from the right side to the left side. Will test later. I did use a meter to check voltage output from fog harness with parking light on and with low beams. Unfortunately I don't have a digital meter mine got stolen so using an analogue one, hard to see if the voltage goes up or down.

Rlaf75 is likely correct. If not, my best guess would be a power/ground issue. Either not enough juice through the stock wires or a high resistance ground.

You seem electrically inclined. Maybe you can whip up a relay harness of sorts. Oh what about an anti-flicker thingy:

I'm thinking not enough juice hence that tsb about light flickering and the techs increasing voltage to one side of truck got me thinking. Who knows.

What year did they start with the canbus electrical?

I am not sure.

An update, the problem of the flickering moved to the left from the right when I swapped over the the LED pods. So I am assuming logic would state the issue is with the light and or its harness.

What gets me is that the light does not flicker when the vehicle is off, I tested it again when I moved it over to the other side. With engine running it flickers with engine off it does not.

I just found this article, was interesting hence Id share it.. Misconceptions of canbus.

It could be the vibration of it running that's causing a wire to move around and cut out. Not running no vibrating

IIRC, CAN bus was implemented in the Gen 3's during the 2006 year model refresh.
