Anyone try Modifystreet headlights?

FYI it looks like mid to late May for the "G2" version of these lights.

Debating waiting that long...itching to get them now!
Patience young grasshopper lol.

But in all seriousness I’m like you. I get impatient but in hindsight I’ve never regretted being patient either....whereas I can look back on things I rushed and regret them lol.

AKA: I’d wait bc it’s really not a long time away.

Yeah, I have enough other things I need to put on the truck. And now I get to wait for the truck to get fixed since someone in an F150 rear ended me last week.

So maybe by the time the truck is fixed I can buy myself a set of G2s as a "welcome home" gift for it.

(they did mention the price will be a bit higher because of the added features, but hopefully not too much higher)

So, I read through every page and I'm sure I missed some info. I'm pretty certain I'm going to order these soon, but that said I have a few questions.
1. Are the DRL's needed to make the turns work? Was thinking of just leaving them off.
2. If you ordered the ones with the HIDs, were they pre-installed, or do they need to be installed and dust cap drilled?
3. Has anyone used the 4th gen OE style projectors from modifystreet, if so how is the output compared to these?

1 no
2 just in the box, you still have to do the full install, halogens are preinstalled
3 not sure

Can anyone confirm the high beam bulb? I've seen that it's H7 but Modifystreet is answering questions on Amazon saying it's H1

I installed these last night but cannot get the turn signals to work. After I first start the truck they will work for a couple of flashes and then they quit. I have the hid bulbs and ballast. Do I need a resistor?

Without programming, I believe these should have resistors for the turn signals and parking lights. I used AlfaOBD to enable LED front turns and parking lights and that solved everything. Call alpharex and ask them about it. I talked to a guy from there for a while and they said they were working on it, so they may have a solution they could send you.

Thanks, Jimmy. I sent them an email this morning. I'll be the first to admit, wiring is not my forte at all. What does the gray wire go to?

If you're talking about the grey wire on the box unit that goes to any 12v that is only hot when the key is turned. I used a fuse tap and went to fuse 90/91 changed the fuse to the ignition I believe 91 config

Does anyone that has the HID kit know if they have led resistors in line? I’m starting to think that may be the problem.

The HID low beam bulbs would have nothing to do with the turn signal issue you described. I had the same symptoms you described with the turn signals and I solved it by changing the BCM settings.

Looks like your options are contact modifystreet/alpharex for a harness with resistors to solve the turn/park issue, buy some resistors like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DCULNXS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_I17PCbJ7YW04D

Or get alphaobd or find someone local with alphaobd and change your turm/park lamps settings to led.

I broke down the other night and ordered the HIKARI Ultra LED
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077B5NXPY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_e47PCbEG0EQT3

I've had them in my cart for a week or so and just happen to click on them to view them and they had a lightning sale for them. Snagged them for $71 instead of $89.

Weather permitting I should have them installed this weekend along with adding the proper dedicated drl wire feed from the bcm to the front end connector then to the headlights.

Has anyone cracked these open to see how their LED modules for the DRL/Turn signal look? I'm on the fence about doing a LED "retrofit" with these lights...

I haven't crack them open but when you have the dust covers off the back you can see how they are set up. They are single LEDs on a power bored With small capacitors.

Awesome, thanks. If you're in there, can you get pictures of the front side of the projectors? Wondering if I can fit a Bi-LED module or something in the OE spot.

I was thinking that too... Wondering if we could swap the lower unit with one of those pre-made RGB ones or if it's a custom job.
