Are there any crew cab 8 speeds out there on spray?

Been talking with Matt, gonna be ordering a nitrous kit when this months bonus comes in. Already have the wideband in place to monitor AFR, gonna be running the nitrous outlet brand x kit.

I bought a set of 4 lightly used nitto nt05 R radials 315/40/18 for 200 bucks, getting wheels For them soon. Also might have a cheap way to get a NANO kit for the nitrous bottle, a friend has one yet to be installed and I'm trying to buy it off him.

I haven't seen much crew cab action out there, just that one guy that ran a 100 shot and ended up in mid 12s. I'm trying to see what I can pull out of this 8 speed. Any others out there or will I be the first?

I have a handful of RC customers with spray, but only 3 CC guys. You already saw Arturo who ran a 12.49 with a 100 shot. The fastest N/A crew cab just installed nitrous on his as well. He went 12.95 on motor, so I'm expecting him to see low 12's and maybe even an 11.99 with a 125 shot. He's hoping to make his first few runs on the bottle this Friday.

Sweet. are any of those 8 speeds? I'm curious. I know there like .5 quicker stock for stock, but I'm wondering what that turns into when you start getting into the 12s and 11s. Sean did a guestimate of the difference from my home track (40' short of true 1/8) and said I'd run probably 8.60 to 8.70 on a full 1/8 On motor. Im shooting for 7.95 on spray. Just might have to road trip out to the 1/4 mile track once I get it set up right.

The biggest problem is the nearest 1/4 mile is over an hour and a half from here, and I hear it kinda sucks For prep and organization. The nearest "good" quarter is like a 4 hr drive.

These are all 5 and 6 speed trucks. I do have a local 4 door 4WD 8 speed customer that just finished a nitrous install, but he has it more for fun than for getting serous about track times. He is a member here as well, so I'm sure he will post some info once he gets to the track.

Mine is mostly for fun as well. Of course I want to go fast, and if I set some kind of record for an 8 speed in the process that's great, but this thing is still my DD and will not be undergoing any serious race prep. I plan on putting the radials on it, and taking the spare out.

I have a 14 Crew 4x4 with the 8-speed and 3:21 gears.
I just finished installing my NX Proton Plus kit on my truck Tuesday.
I have yet to order new spark plugs but hopefully I will get to it over the next couple weeks.
I'm looking forward to spraying it. My first goal though is to get into the 13's in the 1/4 mile n/a at full weight minus the spare tire. I run my truck just the way it sits every day, even on the 24" Wheels and tires. Lol
Not saying I won't track prep it eventually, but not yet.
I'm going to the track tomorrow night after work and hoping to break into the high 13's.

11.50 is the cut off. Quicker than that then you need to add more safety equipment. Roll bar, etc.
150 mph you need to add a chute. Lol.. that would be cool to have to have a chute to run legally. . Lol

I went 14.070 last night, full weight, on just the motor and on the 24's. I think that might be it till I run the spray though. If I tried to come out any harder the tires would start to spin and wheel hop would start. Had to let out and get back into it and 60' went from a 2.0 to a 2.3 and 2.4. Which turned my second and third pass into 14.2's. Yuck.. lol
Maybe I just need to save up for some smaller wheels .. haha..

It depends on your track. My NHRA track says anything that's newer than 2000 doesn't need a cage until 10.99 and faster.

Yup. Same at the one an hour from here. Also there are new rules now (I've heard from owners of the cars, no confirmation from NHRA) that if the car can run faster than 10.99 stock, and it's newer than 2008, it doesn't need anything. For inatance, GTR's and such that will run mid 10s with tires don't have to have a cage.

Didn't see any of these threads till tonight . Haven't been on the forum in a while. I'm in the process of installing a kit on my truck. Planning on a 150 shot. Hoping for mid 12s. Ran 13.8 with it tuned by Jay and a vararam cai. Truck is a quad cab 4x4. Hopefully these cv axles can handle launching on a 150. We shall see. What plugs do you plan to use?

The CV's will handle it just fine. For plugs, Denso 3381 or the RR14s, depending on if you switch plugs out for the track or not.

What other mods have yall done? I want to set mine up for fun, don't want to lose all the towing abilities, but definitely want to harass my buddies with "built" GTOs and G8s.

I have a custom tune, vararam cai, efans, and muffler delete. I'm hoping for mid 12s with a 125-150 shot. Unless you have a rcsb truck or do some weight reduction it's gonna be hard to beat a built gto if it's a ls2 car. Just with bolt ons/stalled they ran run high 11s. But like the setup Matt just posted he should be in the 11s so it would be a good race

What are yall gapping your plugs at? Just ordered my densos

Gap to .030 on both plugs, the RR14S come gapped at .032 which would be ok but I still gap them to .030 for my setup.

If you have the 8-speed you can't do a TC, which means any performance mods you do will actually improve your towing ability. Intake, tune, exhaust, headers, t-stat, etc. Nitrous for the track and you can tow the holiday trailer home that night, no need to swap anything if you run the 3381 plugs.
