Yeah I looked but where do you see crew or quad cabs in the 13s? I see moe talking about a 2014 regular cab in 12s.

If you have a ecoboost a 400 tuner and 80 buck custom tune will get you in mid 13s all day.

I have a buddy with mpt tune, downpipes, cai, and charge pipe ran 13.25 in 90 degree Louisiana heat . We going to the track December 7th state capital Raceway baton rouge. Shooting for high 12s in this Cooler weather. I weigh 100 pounds lighter than him, so I'll be behind the wheel. No way any full size hemi running close to that. But if any hemis around Baton rouge wanna prove me wrong, come on down. :)

I have 3 friends with ecoboost customed trucks. All 3 still run 14s. A ecoboost cost well over $40k, i paid $24k. Also, the ecoboost with exhaust sounds like a retarded tractor.

I paid 36k for fx2 with the ecoboost. Buddy of mine paid 34k for xlt 4x4 ecoboost. They not more expensive.

Exhaust sounds like **** no doubt.

Sorry wasn't sure if we were talking about the EcoBoost or the Hemi with a canned tune... assumed hemi which is why I thought 90hp was alot.

Sounds like a pissed off Honda Civic. Those Ecoboosts may be a beast when tuned. But I'm sorry guys. I just can't get past a full size truck not having a V8. There's just something about that combination. That just don't taste right. I guess it's all the horror stories I have heard and all the owners that have dumped there Ecoboosts for v8 trucks. That makes me not care how much power you can get out of one. If it won't last until it's payed for.

I'dd appreciate the times here and now if you like the Hemi, the way the automakers are going in the years to come I think there will be changes... diesels, turbo 6's, maybe even electric.... there are now supercars getting electric. Who knows, maybe by 2025 there will be no big V8's???
But as far as little V6 turbos and the ecoboost, there us speed there, I point out the example of Buick Grand Nationals... very evil drag machines still today.

Yea Buick t-types are animals. GM even put the same drive train (turbo 6) in the 1989 GTA firebirds as a special package. Buick's ran 13s stock and much quicker with little mods.

V8 is dying... can only get so much fuel economy. Alternate fuel sources are being developed. The electric sportS cars insane! No engine lag and full tq instantly... wicked fun but don't sound good lol.

I wanna know where u get 90hp from a canned tune? A custom tune MAYBE with lots mods running real bad before the tune, but not from a generic canned tune.

"93 Octane Performance Tune
Designed for power, economy, and drivability, this tune requires users to run a minimum of 93 octane “premium” in their gas tank to see the best power gains. You will need to upgrade your truck’s spark plugs to Ford Motorcraft part number SP-534, at .032-.035. With the proper gas and spark plug setup, this tune will add over 90 horsepower and 90 Ft. Lbs of torque!"

Modern Direct Inject Turbocharged engines are just badass. :naughty:
I can tell ya this, a good 1/2 throttle punch will break em loose, almost every time. It's downright amazing. So :love51:

You're still slow :love51:

There's a guy that lives a few hours away that's been beating up on the streets with his modded Ecoboost (turbo wheel swap, etc.) I apparently ran into him last time up was up in Sheerwood Park and I'd just had it tuned for the nitrous to spool everything quicker and the bottles were still open. He got the jump because mine only starts building at 3000rpm but it's lots of fun when the nitrous kicks in at 2800 plus the lightning fast shifts, he didn't last long up front once everything started rolling.

That said, I have lots of respect for the Ecoboost, almost bought one, but I decided that my work truck would be a Ford instead. I had some good runs with my '07 when it was first released, won some/lost some.

Yup, check you the ATS-V
2016 Cadillac ATS-V: ?Everything You Need To Know

455HP. Wait tell a tune puts it over 500HP
Gotta love it.

I looked at a ecoboost before I got my RAM. They just were asking to much for them at the time.
I agree though about exhaust, I listened to a bunch of youtube video's and it wasn't very pleasing. lol

Congrats HemiPower! I'm curious if the race was a 1/4 mile if He would have still been looking at your tail lights?

Probably not, since it was a brand new truck. Give those turbo's about 20-45K miles though and the song would change. Sold new Chryslers, back in the 80's & early 90's, Family has always had car lots. Turbos back then were junk and wore out quickly, Turbo's wear out, far too quickly too.

Even today, with the insanely huge, powerful turbo's they put on diesel locomotives. They wear out, too darn quick. IMO, turbo's are a gimmick, not unlike NOS, fun toy but not to be used, regularly.

I will be stunned if we don't see a lot of "My Turbo Broke" threads, in 5 years or so, from everyone who has them, regardless of make.

If we stopped modding everything to go faster we wouldn't break them nearly as often, lol.

I wish a RAM would get an SRT engine version. I would cream.

The high HP results of the ecoboost is typical for any modern boosted motor. Im not knocking it. but stock for stock the HEMI is faster it seems. Mod for Mod the Ecoboost should win, however we have a ceiling when it comes to mods, we can only do so much with a N/A motor and a ****** 6spd. however with the Ecoboost skys the limit, and I tip my hat to that. Turbos are a car nuts dream as its the cheapest "replacement for displacement" and they show up most everything in their class and above when modded. I wasnt trying to start a war with my race story, I think both trucks are fast (for trucks), but at the end of the day.. its a half ton truck, who cares? lol unless you buy a RCSB R/T and purpose build it for the track. I think both trucks are great and I wouldn't mind owning either.

You won't get any love for Fords on this site.

I give credit for ford making the ecoboost and not putting it in one vehicle. It's across the line...

I would love to have a 7 passenger Flex or Explorer Ecoboost. Run low 13s with a tune and CAI.
