Has anyone added some ATF to their fuel to fix the hemi tick?

This will have no effect on the parts of the engine that are ticking. I have added it to oil in older vehicles to loosen up stuck lifters but its not something that I would recommend doing all the time as it is kinda a bandaid for a bad lifter.

Ya I'm thinking about doing it just once. Just a litre to a full tank

Do not put ATF in your fuel it isn't made to run through injectors.

Take a video of it if you do! I want to see the smoke! Not sure how much your cats will like it either.

Modern engines are a lot different. Smaller injectors than the old TBI's, hell I wouldn't even run it through a TBI maybe a carb if I knew it was gummed up and didn't have time to take it apart and clean it right. Just look at your truck, is it worth the price to fix other problems down the road that come up from putting something in your fuel that isn't supposed to be there? I don't know many 19 year olds that can afford a grand for new cats or the same for new injectors and I don't wanna play off your age but just look at bigger picture.

Your absolutely right. Im not saying im doing it. I strictly posted this cause I know it can be done and some people think it works, and I wanted more opinions and wanted to know if anyone has done it in a 4th gen and had success

I've NEVER heard of doing it in the gas though... Only the oil or I've seen people squirt some in the intake to find exhaust leaks.

I actually have heard many guys run ATF in the oil before an oil change to clean it out, are you sure that is not what you are thinking about? Because there are a lot of ways that "could" work. Number one it would thin your oil and thin oil helps lifters. It could also clean away junk from lifters, another good possibility. However, on 4rth gen's we are already using the thinnest oil available that many brands make, so it would have less chance of working in a 4 gen then someone who runs 10w40. ATF is a great cleaner in engine oil so long as you don't run it for a long time.

I think you are better informed now but I know some people use ATF in diesel fuel to help lubricate injectors. Gas engines work totally different and do not have near the fuel pressure to squirt the ATF mixture through injectors. You do not want ATF in your gas...at all.

Early 90's fuel injection systems (Ferd) would go air bound in hi temps. A small amount of ATF (< 4oz) in the fuel tank kept the gas (or gas & alcohol) from flashing to vapor and binding up the injection system. '00 and newer systems do not vapor lock so ATF in the fuel would just cause varnishing of your exahsut valves or worse, Cat overheating and accelerated aging.
