First beef on the new power wagons. Who else thinks the auto hi-beams are a total pain it the ass ?? First time driving at night it was snowing and raining mixed. Not sure if it’s because of the snow and rain but driving last night I felt like I was in a disco the lights were flashing on and off so much seems like every time it hit 2 road signs that we’re close it shuts it off. The way it worked was annoying. Any one else’s have issues

I don’t have auto high beams. I have friends with other vehicles with auto high beams and I’ve never liked the functionality. If I want my high beams on I turn them on. To often their lights were on when they were following me at night or watching them turn on and off every 20 seconds and they were on going down a street with street lights.

My auto high beams work amazingly. I’ve driven other cars with the feature and they dim every time there is a sign or reflector in view. My PW however only dims when a car is coming into view. It dims lightning quick and goes back to high beams very shortly after passing a vehicle. I’ve always wondered how it differentiates headlights with other types of light so accurately.

I don’t like them, I don’t use them, for that exact reason!

I love the auto hi beam, but I like the rain sensing more.

Only time mine is tricked is a highly reflective sign.

I also live the the middle of no where, so there's not many signs or street lights to fool mine. Because the roads are empty its nice to have my lights go into low beam so I don't forget.

I find the ram they work good, same with Ford, my 2020 gmc is a huge hassle.

I like them in general, but mine seem to have a problem not seeing 18 wheelers with LED headlights. It doesn't have a problem with normal vehicles but I constantly get flashed by 18 wheelers (as soon as they flash their high beams mine dim automatically of course). I wish they had a little bit more delay for reactivating, if oncoming vehicles have just a little gap between them it looks like you are giving a warning flash because they turn on and back off so quickly.

Yes, I agree that they are a PITA, but overall I like the functionality. Highly reflective road signs cause them to dim, and I'll turn the switch knob to override them.
The automatic wipers I'm not so fond of because I think they are too sensitive and wipe too often. Lately I've been using the Rain-X fluid and it allows rain to bead and blow off the windshield.

I haven’t liked them in other vehicles, but I could turn that feature off. Can you turn it of on yours? I don’t even know if my ‘18 has auto high beam, I’ve never driven it in the dark yet.....Lol

Well I just bought it about 2 weeks ago and I’ve been working the last week and up here in Northern Alberta it’s already staying light out until 9:30 at night....... and us “old guys” go to bed early ya know!

It's not a function I want, same with rain-sensitive wipers. Glad mine doesn't have them, frankly. It just seems like time spent on that feature could have been spent on other functions that aren't quite what they should be.

I have installed both the rain sensing wipers plus the auto high beam feature I'm my Express and they work great. I don't use the auto high beam that much only because of when and where I drive at night but I do use the rain sensing wipers a lot. It's extremely nice not to have to constantly turn the wipers on and off when the rain is intermittent. I also like the fact that I can adjust the sensitivity by simply adjusting the intermittent wiper switch. Is it a big deal to turn them on and off manually? No it isn't but it's a nice feature to have. Another thing to note is if your truck has these options you can turn them on or off in your settings menu and have them work normally if you chose.

My power wagon has the auto lights and wipers and they work quite well in my opinion. Sure they get tricked by a road sign every now and then, but no big deal. The wipers are easy to tune to how sensitive you want them.

My half ton big horn does not have these features, and I miss them big time when I drive it. Is it hard to do it manually, well no, but when you are used to not having to it kinda sucks!
