Has anyone else received this letter from FCA?

If it ain't broke don't fix it

Most old sayings are good advice.
Whether it's a phone, computer, tv or vehicle...anytime I've done a software upgrade it was worse than before it was 'fixed'.

Unless you like your transmission slamming (and I do mean SLAMMING) into Park when you open your door while backing up a trailer, pulling onto ramps, etc, I wouldn't.

That's generally my feeling as well.

The autopark does engage when the door is open so I'm not losing anything just not sure what effect this would have on my warranty, if any. It does say recommended so I'm assuming this doesn't make it mandatory.

Sounds like they are incorrect and you got the "update" then.

The auto-park started out as a stand-alone flash (U074). So many were refusing it FCA incorporated it into the AEM flash. The above letter was sent to those who got the AEM flash before the auto-park was included and no record of the original U074 being completed.

They have us Californians forced into the AEM & auto-park as they are threatening to not re-register non-AEM flashed trucks.

I don't ever back my truck in a fashion that would trigger the auto-park. Regardless, I purchased a pair of seat belt tongues on eBay for under $5.00 just in case. I've heard of others just fastening their seat belt and sitting on it. Extenders are free from your dealer and also popular.

What I'm trying to say is don't fret it, bypassing it is a no brainer.

No recall is "mandatory" as far as I know. My truck is a 2015 and it has never been in for a recall or update. Nobody has arrested me or taken my truck away.
