AUX switch location

I’ve never seen anyone use this access panel before to mount a switch but I just finished up installing this switch for a light bar and turned out really well. It is out of the way but still in easy reach. Routed the wires through the firewall, over the steering column and through the center console. Figured this would also be an easy piece to replace if I went to sell/ trade my truck later.

That's a common place for a 5 position rotary switch when you tune a diesel. In theory to reverse the setup, you just need to replace that one little panel.

I have lighted switches mounted on that small panel
One switch is for the Light Bar, that is between my Tow Hooks
The 2nd switch is for Power to my Headache Rack

when i need my CB Radio, i can connect my Microphone to the fitting that is also there

A lot of folks have used it. I put my transfer case lockup switch there. Very handy, indeed.

Or, install a switch box in an open spot in the console.

Same place I have my stinger mount for my Glock 27. Works great.
