I have a 2002 Ram 1500 SLT Sport. I have been searching nonstop and can not find a grill guard anywhere that does not say "Does not fit sport models".... does anyone have any suggestions??

Moved this to the appropriate section so you can get more hits. One of our 3rd gen members should be able to chime in with an answer

I thought on the 3rd gens the sport did not matter? That was mainly for the 99-01 sports

not sure, the support brackets are different on the sport vs. the chrome bumper.

I paid somewhere around $900 for mine (grill guard alone before the winch mount) in stainless in April of '05, but the finish shines just like glass as well today as it did the day I took it out of the box. No care above washing it along with the truck and I hit it with Flitz maybe 1-2x a year. Being that it has an optional winch mount means it's strong as hell.

I think black powdercoat it runs (or at least ran when I bought mine) at about $600.

I don't know if they still make a chrome model or not, but I'd make it my last choice, a buddy of mine bought one for his Z71 in 2001 and by about two years ago (granted this was about nine years after install) the chrome on the uprights was flaking and peeling off, leaving the unprotected steel prone to rust. After he got a local quote of $700 to re-chrome them, he ended up coming to me to see what I could do with them. I removed them, sand blasted them and color matched them - didn't come out too bad...

Here is a fairly recent pick of my stainless one, at roughly six and a half years after installation:

Yeah, I think it's either Smittybuilt or Superwinch that has one similar too, but if I'm not mistaken only Warn does a Stainless one. I don't think the others are available in anything but black powdercoat.

Most grill guards have no provision for a winch, so what are out there that are A) strong and B) have available winch mounts are pretty much made by (or at least re-sold by) winch companies. Of course there are aftermarket winch bumpers out there and truth be told, for what I paid for my Warn Stainless and the winch mount I could have gone full winch bumper and had it color matched and not had a lot more in it...

Are you looking for just a grill guard or a front bumper replacement? Either way I believe you would have to change the bumper supports and go to a regular chrome bumper(if just grill guard)

There is a guy that works by me and he has a grille guard on his 03 sport. I am headed out of town tonight but when I get back I will snap a picture for you.

Hey Hammer

I am considering buying a Warn trans4mer (Part#75515) for my 2007 Ram 1500

How do you like it on your red ram? Is yours Part# 75515 trans4mer?
Would you recommend it?
Is it hard to install?
Do you have more photos?

Let me know.
