Putting an extra cooler into the mix isn't going to change it's temps much as it still has a transmission thermostat. Keep an eye on the pan for leaks,as there's a few guys reporting the cork gasket they use will start leaking after it's got some heat cycles on it. Nobody has used Cork gaskets in the last 25 years, not sure why B&M decided to go back to a Fred Flinstone gasketWent smooth at 43800 it took 10 amsoil squeezers to fill instead of the first time at 10000 mi.with OE pans 6 but doesn’t reduce temp so I will put a cooler between the intercooler and radiator before next trip.View attachment 581623View attachment 581624View attachment 581625View attachment 581626View attachment 581627
Those are what Ma Mopar calls normal temps for the 8 speed, but they're alot hotter then i think they should be,considering the 2500's run virtually the same 8 speed, and they'll run under 170 for the most part, even my wifes 1320 which is Dodges hi-po drag oriented 6.4 Challenger will run at 160 to 165 cruising down the highway at 75 mph,and it's the only naturally aspirated 6.4 Dodge with the 8HP70 to have a factory transmission brake and high stall convertor.Jesse Caulk / @caulk04 sold his thermostat delete idea to some outfit, but i forget their name, but alot of guys are running it and liking their transmission temps after installing it.The cork gasket was a surprise used gasket shellac and definitely will be watching it and doing one more level check. How hot should it get? I always liked 180 but even without a trailer it’s 190.Texas had it close to 200 with a 2500 lb trailer with no brakes.View attachment 581640View attachment 581641View attachment 581642
Don't do the Revmax kit,it's over priced garbage and will burn up your 8 speed in short order unless you do their complete delete. CrazyKid and i did the Revmax kit,and trust me Jesse Caulks thermostat delete is far superior, and alot easier to install, and it's also easily reversed if you don't like it,or have to take the truck in for transmission work. I actually ended up basically discarding the Revmax kit and completely deleting the thermal management unit, that was before Jesse came out with his thermostat delete, and if i was doing it again,i'd just use his delete kit instead. There's about a 50 page thread that i started several years ago on the revmax kit,and if you manage to get to about pg 24 or 25 ,you'll see how i deleted the thermal management unit
Ordered the Caulks 2-3 days I’ll have it thanksThose are what Ma Mopar calls normal temps for the 8 speed, but they're alot hotter then i think they should be,considering the 2500's run virtually the same 8 speed, and they'll run under 170 for the most part, even my wifes 1320 which is Dodges hi-po drag oriented 6.4 Challenger will run at 160 to 165 cruising down the highway at 75 mph,and it's the only naturally aspirated 6.4 Dodge with the 8HP70 to have a factory transmission brake and high stall convertor.Jesse Caulk / @caulk04 sold his thermostat delete idea to some outfit, but i forget their name, but alot of guys are running it and liking their transmission temps after installing it.
Did you level the transmission @Dan Topp ? Here's the instructions that come with a brand new truck specific 8 speed when bought from the dealer, and they're very specific about leveling the transmission, not the truck.

For what it's worth, I just don't handle retail any more. I still handle production of them and wholesale them to Dillyn who runs the website and retail end..Jesse Caulk / @caulk04 sold his thermostat delete idea to some outfit, but i forget their name, but alot of guys are running it and liking their transmission temps after installing it.
