Yes, I’ve been a naysayer of bags. But I find myself in a situation where they may become a necessity for me, so I need info that I’m not finding readily available.

Is anyone running this setup? Any issues with actuating the handle? I see the Airlifters claim they are incompatible with side-mount fifth wheel hitches and I’m not sure where the handle of a B&W ends up.

Thanks in advance!

No experience with those bags.

The B&W handle follows the edge of the bracket that the hitch assembly bolts to. It goes just in front of that large bracket that runs between the frames and comes out in the wheel well on the driver’s side.

I don’t have experience with either but curious as to what you are trying to tow! Camper?

Yeah, we are looking at going from our ultra lite travel trailer to a fifth wheel. We’re only talking 1500lbs of pin weight, but that’s over the stock payload on a Wagon. I know everything else on a Wagon is basically the same as a standard 2500, but I want to keep my flex when unloaded.

You could always go with the factory goose neck mount and B&W goose neck to fifth wheel hitch. My father used that setup on his fifth wheel with no issues. The only downside is the hitch takes a little longer to remove from the bed. But the ball does not required a handle to remove. Or you could install the factory fifth wheel prep-kit. I loved that setup on my last 3500. The install is pretty simple, I installed one on a 2500 and had it factory on my last 3500.

Not a fan of gooseneck to fifth wheel adapters. I’d rather have the massive locking jaws of the B&W Companion.

Yea I agree. I really liked my Reese 20K with the slider mounted in the factory bed pucks. Though the B&W Companion will also mount to the Factory Fifth Wheel prep kit that cam be added to the Ram 2500s and 3500s.
