Back up camera

I'm new to the site and have a couple of questions (possibly dumb ones). I just bought a 2014 bighorn. I noticed that it has the back up camera in the tailgate handle, but there is no picture on my 5.0 radio when backing up. Is it possible that the wiring for the camera is present and just needs to be connected to activate this feature? How can I determine this? And, how do I go about doing this? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I'd go to the dealer and ask them since it's brand new. Does your screen (on your 5.0 radio) turn blue when the truck is put in reverse?

Look at the connection near the tailgate. Open the tailgate and you will see wire bundle going to the bed. Pop off the that cover and check the connection. If you run your truck without the tailgate you will need to disconnect the backup camera here. Also in the glove box you should find a little plastic cover in a bag, this is a cover for that connection
