I noticed when backing up, my screen was flooded with darkness. In a previously owned RAM, I has an issue where the screen was pixilated which ended up being the harness.

Wondering if this is a potential problem, or the camera just caught a flash of sunlight in “just the right” place that it couldn’t render. Got it to reproduce in place, but when I moved the vehicle it seems to be back to normal.

Thoughts?

Tough to say. If it was a one time thing and you can't reproduce it, I wouldnt worry until it happens again. Good luck!

I've been having an issue with mine somewhat regularly where it will either get distorted or just go completely out. Saw there was a tailgate latch recall done prior to my purchasing it and I'm going to have to assume they screwed something up. Have yet had the time to open it up and take a look.

Possibly, though often times it is the wiring harness. The dealer would likely replace camera and harness. I’d take a photo of it, as I did if it is temperamental.

Yeah I'd like to get in there first and take a look, if it needs something that will cost me a chunk of money it will definitely be heading to the dealer for some warranty work.

Hi FriedDumpling,

I am sorry to see this. If you end up going into the dealer for an inspection, let us know. We're available via direct message and would be happy to help.

Does anyone else notice the video gets a bit laggy when turning the wheel backing up?
