I have a 2016 2500 with factory cargo and backup cameras. Both cameras can be activated at ANY speed but will only stay on for about 10 seconds. I want to be able to activate either one and for them stay on until I manually turn them back off. I've read that the customtronix interface kits will not do this. Has anyone been able to make this work? NOW, before the the safety police get on their soapboxes and start preaching about keeping your eyes on the road and not being distracted, just save your sermon. I haul alot in the bed of my truck; items that block the rearview mirror. The side mirrors are worthless if a vehicle is driving too close behind. The backup camera lets me know whats going on in these situations. It is far safer to have the backup camera video feed active all the time than having to take one hand off the wheel and scroll back through the screen menu to activate it again and again.

It sounds like this would require actual CAN coding to make happen; even the Tazer doesn't have that as a listed feature.

I can appreciate your concerns.

I wonder if there's an aftermarket camera system that would have this feature of remaining on.

Until you find another solution, how about creating a backup camera shortcut on the main Uconnect screen? I use mine periodically.

If you're not willing to sacrifice the limited space on the shortcuts bar, another option is to create a shortcut on the main Apps screen, provided you have an Apps shortcut. I use a softswitch for seat heaters, the heated steering wheel, and the display off.

All of these shortcuts were added to the Apps home screen. The picture above is not showing the Apps homescreen, it's the Apps/page 2.

Not a bad idea, I'll have to check if mine has that option since it's a 2016.
