bad battery

I left my key on a for a few hours and it killed my battery. I have recharged and ran the truck but it still wont start after sitting a few minutes. I had it tested at autozone and its below 12v sitting. What is the best battery option. Autozone wants almost $200 for one.. if i spend that much cant i get an Optima?

Should i try the warranty route? The truck is 14 months old.

I do have an audio system with 4g wire to the battery. that's my main concern about a dealer seeing it.

I had them replace it under warranty with my Challenger and I had 0 gauge ran. All depends on the dealer.

Recondition it.

Have a base on hand in case you splash your skin, I bet baking soda will do it. Pour a bunch in a gallon of water just in case.

Prices of battery's have gone up over the last year or so and to get a relatively decent one you will be close to $200. Now with that said do not get an optima as they aren't made like they used to be. I personally would go the warranty route and the worst they could say is no and they don't warranty it no biggie. Then you are free to get whatever you want and with that I will say go find a northstar dealer and pick one of those up.

Too late.. I couldn't even get it to start via a jump or from a starter jump box. I bought one from advanced auto for $220 OTD.. I may still take the bad battery up to the dealer and see what they can do for me.

So what about the core charge for not having a battery to turn in for the one bought at AA?

Yeah the core is good for about 20 bucks so remember that if the dealer doesn't take care of the old one for you.

Damn, I hope that's an Optima for that price! I only pay about $175 for the red top.
