2015 ram 1500 bighorn if i have the locking tailgate will the harness be in the tailgate for the oem backup camera?

Not likely....you would need to crawl under the truck and see how many wires are at the connector that is at the centre tailgate to bed transition area. If you only have 2 wires, then best bet is to get the entire install kit (which has a replacement in tailgate harness with a camera connector). If you have 6/8? then you might already have the required wiring.

I'd say it's very likely. Everybody I know of who has added the camera, even if they had no other portion of the wiring, had the part in the tailgate (if they had the lock).

The plug itself is the same BUT the wire are not there. If you go with a factory back up cam kit you have to re-pin that harness and also re pin to the bcm and radio

There are two different harnesses inside the tailgate for the camera , the larger of the two harnesses do in fact have the camera wires 6ea and 2ea for the lock .
The kit comes with this harness as well . So you'll have an extra one .
