Alright fellas,I'm gonna ask for all your expertise..coz I can't find anything past what I've ordered and it was wrong...apparently just a wrap around crap cover I recieved..don't want that.
Anyone know where I can get the full battery cover(like in te pic if I do it right)..2010 model so full battery cover with velcro lid..dunno bout you newer guys stuff ii it's the same.
I ordered what showed that but received a superceded version I guess u call it....which is just a wrap around no lid.
This dip sh$# from wherever it was(Texas dealer think)..would not refund my money no matter how bad I ******* about it being false advertising in the listing on there site...said my Vin was correct and that's what ordered..needless to say I'm prolly banned from ever ordering from them again..lol
If I could remember their name I would share it...been bout 9-12 months(I guess)and I'm checking the fluids for a trip and got reminded of this.
Please share if u can,or any ideas on what I could get.
Thanks guys

Like this (below)? The illustration shows a surround insulator, but the item pictures shows a velcro strap lid. Maybe drop the part number into Google and verify it's what you're looking for. It shows 3 in stock:

Most of the supply chains have been quite messed up in recent times. Have you considered checking out local wrecking yards?

Dang...why didnt i think to do a google search.
Reason I posted here was if anyone had a better idea to find an old part.it was one of those mopar sites also.
Seriously,i did all that....ordered what i said, recieved something different...look and you tell me....part numbers appear to be the same for different items....makes no sense to me....unless I'm missing something and dont understand...please school me.

The p/n is obviously the same. Are these two pics using different views of the same item?

Could you post the url for both of these? I'd have to see them using my pc tomorrow, I'm using a smartphone now which limits visibility.

LOL:
Back in 2009, i posted my battery cover on the Ram forum with a Z
I just Googled battery covers & my picture came up
It was a battery cover that i tried to get for my 2016, Dodge Parts Dept. said that they don't make them any more.
I have seen them on some Rams built in the last few years

xBmXbk.jpg

The one on my 2016 looks like crap

I'm kinda at the point to where I'm gonna take up sewing and try to "re-skin" what I have.

My 16 1500 has the O.E one still in it. It goes around the battery - but does not have a "top".

The picture of the one I sent is the actual unit. Not a diagram. It matches the one my friend has in his 2010, and he is original owner. So, before you get pi**y, maybe take some better pictures, tell us if there are original markings or even a part number on it somewhere, and if you are the original owner. Maybe that thing you have isn't OEM. Seeing how you have slammed everyone who has tried to help you, think you can go jump all over people on another site now.

And FYI, the part image you provided looks nothing like the actual item link I provided. Maybe, just maybe, Ram modified the part because a variant they might have used ended up looking like the hot mess you have.

I recently replaced the battery in my 19' 5.7 and upgraded/upsized to the H8 AGM Interstate. I purchased a new OEM batter terminal cover (positive post) and a new OEM battery insulation cover as well.

This new one has cut outs for the positive and negative terminal posts, whereas my original one for the H7 stock battery only covered around the battery but was open on top.

Do you have a local dealer parts dept you work with? Or give one of the smaller dealer part's dept a call, and see if you can buy a battery cover from them at close to the internet price. They might charge a little more, but you wouldn't have shipping charges either (which can be rather high). If you get there and it's the older style that's great, you got what you wanted. If it's the wrong, just don't accept it. The parts guys themselves might not know for sure which one you'd get. It's not uncommon for illustrations and the part to vary ...even with other car companies.

Smaller dealerships, at least around here, are much more willing to work with me on various things. Larger dealerships in our area ... they will, *if* you are an outfit like a body shop, which buys a lot of parts from them. But if yer the 'guy off the street' usually not so much.

Ok buddy simmer down...I havent gotten pi**y with or slammed anyone on here...i have answered all questions up to this point as to what I have done and will answer more after your last post in just a second...
The pics I provided are of the link you provided for a google search with the red sticker as was on the lid.my pic the lid is decayed and flapped over ,velcro still there.i cannot help it if the schematics provided are a drawing..that's mopar not me.
I do agree with your last statement about mopar changing the design(for whatever reason,I would guess cheaper to produce from a vendor).
I'm gonna provide another pic of what I received.....unopened so I could return it...again they would not accept it(well they would if I payed the shipping back...that was like 3 bucks more than the cost of what I payed for it....so i would be paying them to take it back)due to the fact that they showed a pic of a black/charcoal color battery cover with a lid with a red sticker on it...my exact item I have...err had.
Gtyankee hit it on the head with his pics.
I went out and checked mine (old style w/cover top), but couldn't find a part number on it, to give you.
I checked again,no numbers anywhere,
I did go up to the local dealer after I recieved the cover took it with me..they confirmed it's the right part# for my year and vin.they also said "looks like they dont make it with the lid anymore".

I'm not trying to be difficult here. The reason I brought it up was to see if anyone had some ideas of where I might find one.
I'm sure any cover would work, really just trying to find what I have in newer condition.

This looks like the padded battery cover that was on my 2009 Dodge Ram SLT 1500

Yes..you are correct...the red sticker is the one.
All those numbers you've posted are the same as my findings.
Thanks to everyone who chimed in.

I've wondered for quite a while what the real-world practical benefits are of the padded cover are on a stock truck "in most situations"?

I can see value to reduce 'potential' radiated heat. But, my battery case doesn't ever feel warm at all. Perhaps it helps slow down the 'Rate' of temperature change (reduce external condensation?) a little? Or to prevent acid from splashing all over in the event of an accident? Or is it to look 'finished' to help outsell a GM pickup, for example, which might not have a battery cover? Would it help reduce explosions by shielding from sparks? Or would it entrap just a 'little' more hydrogen allowing possibly for a potentially greater explosion? It wouldn't help prevent freezing in cold climates ....IDK. I did a competitive look a while ago and many manufcturers don't provide a case or cover. Is it to look "finished"?

I can envision a battery not being able to cool down, overheating (from overcharging), boiling out some of the electrolyte, which means hydrogen on the loose.

What do you guys think?
